Early life
Gee was born to Alexander Gee Sr and Verline Gee—Fleming. As a kid he moved to Madison, Wisconsin with his sister and mother, so that his mother could finish school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Education
Gee studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with a degree in Afro-American studies in 1985.
