Fictional character biography

Conrad Josten is the youngest of the four Josten children born to farmers living outside Madison, Wisconsin. After his second oldest brother Erik becomes the supervillain Power Man and is arrested, Conrad leaves home and changes his name.

Conrad later joins the Redeemer Program as Smuggler, utilizing a special suit that can harness the Darkforce. The group battles the Thunderbolts, who later disband and give their Colorado headquarters to the Redeemers.

Smuggler is later seemingly killed by Graviton alongside the rest of the Redeemers. He is later discovered to have survived by escaping into the Darkforce, but becomes trapped there before Baron Zemo frees him.

Powers and abilities

Smuggler wears a suit that allows him to access the Darkforce, allowing him to teleport himself and others and elongate his body. He can also generate tendril-like grappling claws.
