Summary
Description`Byars Harley Davidson2.jpg |
English: These photos were taken by Ward Jaycox in about 1927, prior to the release of the new Harley Davidsons for 1928. The photos were released to Ray Byars when they were taken in 1927 by Ward Jaycox in Beaumont, TX. When Ray Byars died in 1952, Byars’ son, Tommy Byars became the heir and owner of the photos. When Tommy Byars died in 2017, his wife, Joyce Byars, became the heir and owner of the photos. Mrs. Byars gave the pictures to me to publish on Misplaced Pages. Mr. Jaycox (original photographer) died in 1944, 78 years ago. The photos are 95 years old. There is a sign posted in the shop advertising the newest motorcycles to be released on the market in 1928 which proves the time error when the photos were taken 95 years ago. Ward Jaycox was born circa 1870. He would be at least 152 years old.
As stated above, this photo was taken in 1927. The photo has a sign in the shop advertising the new release of the 1928 motorcycles. Proof that the motorcycles were on display in the year prior to the release of the new models, see add as an example in the Beaumont Enterprise, September 22, 1952 of the new 1953 models on display in 1952. According to the estate records, Ward Jaycox (original photographer) died in 1944. |
