| DescriptionΠηλήκιο Γαριβαλδινού.jpg | Ελληνικά: Φάλαγγα ή Τάγμα των Γαριβαλδινών ονομάστηκε το στρατιωτικό σώμα Ιταλών εθελοντών που συγκρότησε, το 1843, ένας από τους Εθνικούς Πατέρες της Ιταλίας, ο Στρατηγός Τζουζέπε Γκαριμπάλντι (Giuseppe Garibaldi) (1807-1882), με στόχο την έμπρακτη υποστήριξη όσων πολεμούν υπέρ ελευθερίας. Ο Γκαριμπάλντι συγκέντρωσε τους πρώτους ακολούθους όταν βρισκόταν αυτοεξόριστος στη Νότιο Αμερική. Εκεί, τους έντυσε με κόκκινα ρούχα, τα οποία προορίζονταν για τους εργάτες των σφαγείων του Μπουένος Άιρες. Στην πορεία, το κόκκινο αυτό χρώμα, που τους προσέδωσε και την ονομασία Ερυθροχίτωνες (Redshirts), έμελλε να συμβολίσει τους δεσμούς ενότητας και αδελφοσύνης των Γαριβαλδινών, αλλά και να προσφέρει πρακτική χρησιμότητα κατά τη διάρκεια της μάχης, μιας και οι συμπολεμιστές μπορούσαν εύκολα να αναγνωριστούν μεταξύ τους.
