Description總統府.jpg	中文（臺灣）：總統府為日治時期的台灣總督府，是當時臺灣最高的行政機構，所在位置原是清末台北城內陳姓及林姓宗祠所在，日人治台後先利用清廷遺留下來的「布政使司衙門」作為臨時總督府，至第五任總督佐久間左馬太開始有興建永久性總督廳舍的打算，這棟建築被日人看作是殖民統治的權力象徵，故設計時特別慎重，1906年採用競圖模式徵選設計圖，不過發生了抄襲又首獎從缺等事件，最後由總督府土木局營繕課自行完成，負責技師則是森山松之助，他亦是競圖落選者之一。興建工程於1912年開工，1915年舉行上樑典禮，至1919年竣工，總面積超過一萬多坪，其規模在當時東亞地區屈指可數。 二次世界大戰後期，總督府因在殖民地的角色重要，成了美軍轟炸的目標，造成建物嚴重的損傷，除中央塔右側的衛塔、東南側局部辦公室被炸毀，並遭到三天的祝融肆虐。1948年底大修完成，並配合慶祝蔣中正總統六十大壽，改稱為「介壽館」。1949年國民政府遷台後，則作為總統府使用，繼續維持其權力核心的角色。 這座龐大而壯麗的建築，見證了近百年的臺灣歷史，不但成為臺北市的重要地標，也是近現代史之化身。 This is a photo of a monument in Taiwan identified by the ID AA09602000039
