Franziska Zimmerer (born May 23, 1993) is a German communications consultant, journalist and political scientist.

Family

Franziska Zimmerer was born in Munich and has two younger sisters. Her grandfather is the economist and business broker de:Carl Zimmerer.

Education

After graduating from the Merz School in Stuttgart in 2011, she first studied law at the University of Konstanz. From 2012, she studied political science with a minor in law and a focus on media and copyright law at the Geschwister Scholl Institute of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

Zimmerer then studied at University College London from 2015. In 2017, she completed her studies in Politics and Communications with a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Professional career

Since 2018 she has been working at the media agency StoryMachine, which was founded in 2017 by former BILD editor Kai Diekmann, Michael Mronz and Philipp Jessen There she heads the Politics & Public Affairs department.

Zimmerer publishes articles and guest contributions on the use of social media in a political context, gives lectures on political communication and researches the topic of political memes in social networks.

Journalistic activity

In addition to her studies, Zimmerer worked as a freelance journalist for Bild.de and ZEIT ONLINE among others. Here she wrote on domestic politics, Europe and international conflicts, among other things.

On December 29, as "Head of Community & Social" at Die Welt, she had, explained under the headline "Why I would not have printed this article" that a guest article does not have to "reflect the opinions represented in an editorial office". But anyone who reads Musk's lines will realize after three sentences: It is an overly complex election call for the AfD, which does not contain any argument and whose author did not even find it necessary to spend three minutes dealing with this party.

Politics

Franziska Zimmerer became a member of the FDP after losing the 2013 federal election. Since 2020 she has been editor-in-chief of jung+liberal, the Young Liberals' member magazine. In this role, she is a co-opted member of the Young Liberals' federal executive board.
