In Greek mythology, Orestes (/ɒˈrɛstiːz/; Ancient Greek: Ὀρέστης [oˈrestɛːs] "mountain dweller" derived either from orestias "of the mountains" or oresteros "mountainous" from oros "mountain") was the name of several figures, the most famous being Orestes, the son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra.
