Paola Ueno Dalmonico (born 19 February 2006) is a Brazilian tennis player.
She is currently part of the women's tennis team at Fordham University in the United States, representing the institution in various collegiate tournaments. Paola was recruited by Fordham for the 2024–2025 season, marking a significant milestone in her academic and athletic career abroad.
Career
Junior beginnings
Born in Curitiba, Paola began playing tennis at the age of 11 and has won three junior ITF singles titles, all on clay courts in Brazil in 2022. Her first title came at the J4 Londrina tournament, where she defeated Brazilian third seed Cecilia Costa in the final with a scoreline of 7–5, 2–6, 6–2, after also beating the seventh and fourth seeds earlier in the tournament.
Her second title came at the J4 Itajaí tournament, officially named the "Copa Santa Catarina – Copa ADK Juniors," held in October 2022. Paola won the final against Brazilian third seed Maria Luisa Oliveira in three sets, 7–5, 5–7, 6–3.
Her third junior title was at the J5 Criciúma event, where she was the top seed and defeated fifth seed Candela Vázquez from Argentina in the final, 6–1, 4–6, 6–2.
In doubles, Paola has won two junior ITF titles in 2023, both on clay courts in Brazil. The first was at the J100 Londrina tournament, where she partnered with American Ria Bhakta. The duo, seeded first, defeated Brazilian pair Yasmin Fatima Costa and Luana Paiva in the final, 3–6, 7–5, 10–5.
Her second doubles title came at the J60 Curitiba tournament, where she teamed with Brazilian Julia Bortoluzzi Bianchin Bordignon. The pair defeated Bianca Bernardes and Bruna Melato in the final, 6–1, 6–1.
College career
In the 2024 fall season, Paola began her collegiate tennis career at Fordham University. She competed in the UConn Invitational in September 2024, showcasing her competitive skills early in the academic and athletic season.
