I think your fix did the trick actually; you just needed to purge (unless I missed something). — ] • ] • 16:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC) I LIKE REALLY SALTY BONERS; you just needed to purge (unless I missed something). — ] • ] • 16:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

You are welcome to leave messages here. When adding comments, please create a new section and add the comments to the bottom of this page. I will reply here (rather than on, say, your user page). Conversely, if I've left a message on your talk page, I've added it to my watchlist, so please reply there.

If your messages are rude, wandering or repetitive I will likely edit or delete them. If you want to leave such a message, put it on your talk page and leave me a note here & I'll go take a look.

In general, I prefer to conduct my discussions in public. If you have a question for me, put it here (or on the article talk, or...) rather than via email. If you still prefer to send an email, use the link on my main user page. Sending me an email indicates your permission for me to publicly reveal the contents of that email without exception.

As time goes on, I will migrate our conversations to /Archive1 if we're no longer discussing a current issue.

You beat me to it by a few seconds - good catch! I couldn't tell if you're an admin or not, so I have taken the liberty of placing a warning on Endora1972's talk page as I am an administrator. If you are an admin, I beg pardon for leap-frogging you. 23skidoo (talk) 03:49, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Nope, I'm not an admin, but I don't need to be an admin to leave talk page warnings. I didn't think one was needed as it was the user's first (and only) edit and easily could have been a mistake or just a test edit. It didn't seem malicious in nature to me. Neil916 (Talk) 03:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Ah, as it turns out, it was a vandalism account after all... Neil916 (Talk) 07:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Um I'm pretty sure C. reinhardtii is a protist. Research it yourself. Theres plenty of sources that say so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.238.50.7 (talk) 05:14, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Capitalization and lack thereof

That sure is confusing, since I jump around through all of the kingdoms. I'll try to keep it straight. BTW, you seem to be senior to me in editing life articles, so would you mind checking this and making sure I'm on track? Thanks, Bob the Wikipedian (talk) 16:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm certainly not senior to anybody, but that never stopped me from chiming in with my opinion on something... If I'm understanding your question right, you're asking whether or not it would be appropriate to include, say, a subphyllum field on an article about a goldfish, then no, I think that general consensus is that such information would add unneeded clutter to a taxobox that already contains a lot of information. Since each of the ranks are wikilinked, a user can (and does, if I'm any gauge) click on the higher taxa to learn about those and that would be the appropriate place to discuss minor ranks. Thank you for the barnstar

And for the kind words - they were very much appreciated. Always good to hear from a fellow Neil! Best, Neıl 23:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Need help with tables

{{helpme}} I'm trying to cleanup the blackwater river article and the next chore is tweaking the three huge tables that consume massive amounts of space in the article. I originally put those in there when I first started using wikipedia by using the excel to wikimarkup converter I found on some page somewhere and those monstrosities are what resulted. Now I'd like to format them to make them more aesthetically pleasing. My thoughts are to make them use much less white space and smaller font, which are things I can definitely manage. However, I've been beating my head against the wall for far too long trying to get the three tables to align vertically along the right edge of the article with the text of the article on the left side. I've played with align=right and float=right but I either get three tables all jumbled on top of each other, or the text of the paragraph appearing after a huge whitespace at the end of the tables. Note that the three tables will probably be longer than the section in which they first appear, which is "Comparison between white and black waters". Any table gurus feel like easing my burden and letting me get back to writing instead of programming? Thanks. Neil916 (Talk) 05:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Have you tried aligning the first table left and then floating the next two centre and right respectively? It worked in my browser with the first table down the left hand side and the next two stacked on top of each other only slightly longer than Table 1. BigHairRef | Talk 06:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I tried that, and saw what you were talking about, but it's not what I'm looking for in the article. I modified it again, and you can see what I'm ending up with... The first table is fine, with the text flowing to the left of the table. But I want tables 2 and 3 to be aligned below Table 1 along the right edge of the article as well, instead of mashing over the text. See what I mean? Neil916 (Talk) 06:48, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I played with it more and got the tables aligned on the right edge, but with a lot of whitespace, even at relatively low resolutions. Neil916 (Talk) 07:21, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
if it's whitespace you're worried about, why not mke them collapsible and collapsed by adding class="collapsible collapsed" at the start? Also, you might find it beneficial to strip out the formatting and start from an unformatted table containing your data. Other than that, the full instruction sheet on tables is located here. You might also want to ask at the help desk, as they generally tend to get more technical people responding there. Hope this helps, Gazimoff(mentor/review) 10:33, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Trent from Punchy

I opened an AFD on it. It seems to me to be a completely biased and slanderous article on a living person with very little notoriety. The majority of the references are linked to Youtube and a self-styled website of the same name. Guess we'll see how they feel on the AfD. Thanks.--«JavierMC»|Talk 07:05, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
