[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Bruno Guimarães, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 05:21, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
Opening sentence of biography articles, re Matthew Davies
[edit]Hello. This is about your addition of "or just Davies" to the opening sentence at Matthew Davies (footballer). The opening sentence is for the subject's full name, and any alternative name by which they are commonly known. Please see MOS:NAME, MOS:FULLNAME, MOS:BIOALTNAME.
It's very unusual for a subject to be known by their surname alone, without having established which Davies is meant. I've checked in English-language sources such as Straits Times, The New Paper, The Star, etc and they all follow standard English usage, first referring to him as Matthew Davies and then using the surname alone once the reader knows which Davies they're writing about. Please don't restore it again. Thank you, Struway2 (talk) 10:43, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
