Astro Boy 2003 Cel animation status edit
[edit]Hello, I am a big fan of cel animation and I have done my fair share of research on the topic. The fact Astro boy is the last full cel animated show ever made is widely known and mentioned verbatim in the Japanese article for the show in Wikipedia. Gtoonm (talk) 22:42, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Gtoonm: Please, read WP:VERIFIABILITYNOTTRUTH. Unfortunately your knowledge of the topic is not enough for a site that requires reliable sources to verify the information that you're adding. Read WP:CIRCULAR as well. Xexerss (talk) 22:48, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Admittedly, personal research should not apply. But in this very case I am using a reliable source, the properly sourced Japanese Wikipedia articles for both Astro Boy 2003 and Cel animation, which mention the details I wrote in my original change. Here is one of the sources if you don't believe me. Gtoonm (talk) 03:27, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Gtoonm: It's not a matter of believing you or not, I'm telling you that if you are going to add such statements you should include the sources where the information can be verified (not other languages Wikipedia but the sources used there to support said statements). Lycanthrope Leo
[edit]I do not change the parameters order for no reason as you are trying to imply. Check out {{cite web}}, {{cite magazine}}, {{cite book}} ("Full parameter set in horizontal format"). I just brought order to the standard (before it was random: |publisher= at the end, etc). Second, I have no idea why you have a problem with capital letters. Is it a reason to persecute other editors for changing {{Transl}} to {{transl}}?
Regarding the hidden dates, they are based on this source in the article. Young Sunday's No.24 was issued on December 27, 1991 (cover on Comic Vine) (No.24 on Yahoo! Japan), and No.17 was issued on September 10, 1993 (cover on Comic Vine).
Now care to explain why you interrogate me in the first place? Russian Rocky (talk) 12:10, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Russian Rocky: I use Wikipedia:RefToolbar when adding citations and the standard order is the one that appeared before you made your edits. At what point did I "persecute" you? I just wanted to find out why you made those changes. Xexerss (talk) 12:45, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- You reverted my edits twice (first time with no explanation). If you really wanted to find out something, you'd ask it in the first place. Your preferred Wikipedia scripts aren't really an excuse for such a behavior, especially taking into account that the parameters order can vary between different citation templates-related scripts.--Russian Rocky (talk) 13:27, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Russian Rocky: I repeat that I had no idea why you were making those changes. To begin with, when you changed the order you just wrote in the edit summary "added Category:Anime and manga about werewolves using HotCat", which has nothing to do with these changes. If I didn't ask the first time it was because I thought you were just doing it out of personal preference. Now I know that it was because you were following the order of the template documentation, which does not coincide with the tool I use, and whose order is no less valid. Xexerss (talk) 13:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "and whose order is no less valid"? Do you really expect other editors to care about your preferred tool's parameters order, which isn't even publicly available? Notice that the parameters order varies even in your original version of the article "Lycanthrope Leo" (Revision as of 22:25, 30 January 2024).

Russian Rocky (talk) 15:21, 29 October 2024 (UTC)- @Russian Rocky: The order is automatically added when using said tool. Do you want to stop now? I wanted to know why you changed the order, I know it was because you were going by what the document says, I get it. Really, you're making a bigger deal out of this than you should. Xexerss (talk) 15:25, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- If you get it, then why did you say "Now I know that it was because you were following the order of the template documentation, which does not coincide with the tool I use, and whose order is no less valid."? What does "no less valid" mean, if you personally admitted that there is basically no order and parameters are added automatically?
- I'm sorry for disturbing you, but your words sound like you prohibit to change the parameters order in your articles, giving no clear reason for this. Russian Rocky (talk) 16:05, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Russian Rocky: If by using a tool from the own site the order is added by default, why would it be wrong to leave it at that? Which guideline or MOS indicate that it is mandatory that ALL citations must follow the order of the template documentation? I am not prohibiting anything, I am telling you for the third time that I wanted to know why you were modifying the order given by the tool; it is now clear to me why, but just as you do not expect editors to follow the order given by the tool, do you expect other editors using the tool to care if the given order matches the order of the document and to modify it manually afterwards? The tool is there to make it easy to fill in the parameters, and then taking the time to make sure that the order matches the order of the document would be nonsense, but if you are going to take the time and "fix" that, do it, at least I know that you are not changing the order arbitrarily, and that's enough for me. Xexerss (talk) 16:14, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't say that the standard parameters order is mandatory (notice that WP:REF gives only links to citation templates and I have no idea where some tools' parameters order can be found without using them), but it's definitely not a reason to revert a whole edit. Though, your complaint would be legit, if I only changed the parameters order, which isn't the case here (I also fixed dates, used proper templates for magazines, added a category). My only fault is the edit summary apparently wasn't helpful for you, because I consider using the standard parameters order and fixing dates as minor changes.
- By the way, what do you think about adding the original run dates to the article (December 27, 1991 – September 10, 1993)? It is clear that Young Sunday's No.24 was issued on December 27, 1991, and No.17 was issued on September 10, 1993 (see the covers above, No.24 "Contents" page on Yahoo! Japan), but additional sources can be needed. I added these dates using "invisible" comments (MOS:COMMENT) because they might be helpful for other editors, but you removed them. Russian Rocky (talk) 18:47, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Russian Rocky: I left the order of the template documentation and most of the other changes you added, can't you forget that already? what else do you want me to say? I removed the dates simply because there were no sources supporting them. Xexerss (talk) 18:58, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think you need sources for "invisible" comments, which are only visible for editors, but anyway. I'm grateful that most of the changes were restored. Sorry for the inconvenience, I won't disturb you anymore. Russian Rocky (talk) 19:20, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

About the Boruto plot
[edit]If the problem persists, what needs to be fixed? 2601:18A:817E:9960:0:0:0:6BA9 (talk) 11:16, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
About edit summary on the Boruto Plot
[edit]I'm sorry about not explaining why I edited and shortened the plot of the Boruto story. I only did that because it had to be less longer, and I thought maybe when the next chapter would come, someone would be able to add more info of the chapter and the previous ones. 2601:18A:817E:9960:0:0:0:E235 (talk) 17:51, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Oshi no Ko live action
[edit]Hello! Is it just me or did you miss the fact that before the December live action movie, Oshi no Ko will first get a live action series in November? The film will be its sequel. Solaire the knight (talk) 17:50, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Solaire the knight: Yes, it should be included in the infobox as well. If you are referring to the infobox, I just made a correction to what an editor added earlier. Xexerss (talk) 21:23, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- By the way, again about Oshi no Ko. Is this style edit correct? It confuses me that an anonymous user is trying to delete this again, but English is not my native language and maybe the phrase would be really better without the “still”? Solaire the knight (talk) 13:53, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Solaire the knight: Personal preference on the part of the IP user I guess, but neither way seems wrong to me. Xexerss (talk) 14:05, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- So, I better give up on this, otherwise it might turn into a pointless war of edits? Solaire the knight (talk) 14:17, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Solaire the knight: Or you could explain yourself in the edit summary. It's not like the IP user gave a reason for removing the word, which I guess is to reinforce the idea that Aqua inevitably died despite wanting to live on, right? Xexerss (talk) 14:25, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well, the original logic of the sentence was that although Aqua felt pain for most of the scene and even said at one point that he wanted to live again, in the end he sees the light and dies with a smile, hearing some kind of song. So I used "still" to show that the scene still ends on a (notional) peaceful note. I don't want to end up in an edit war again for no reason, so I wanted to clarify if there's even any point in arguing about this edit. Solaire the knight (talk) 14:32, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

Mushoku Tensei
[edit]IP User talk:186.6.100.185 reverted the edit to Mushoku Tensei and has engaged an edit war which has since released on DVD not only for streaming. Look after the IP for me. 76.71.63.110 (talk) 12:08, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not going to try to reason with that IP user again. I don't have the article on my watchlist and I have no interest in getting involved. You may try to bring the issue at WP:ANI. Xexerss (talk) 12:27, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- The user is from the Dominican Republic changing the links from the company to the streaming service and im getting fed up with that user vandalizing and reverting edits.
- Hey, that IP is back as User talk:190.167.40.71. 76.71.63.110 (talk) 21:05, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Dandadan articles
[edit]Hi, I'm working on making individual episode articles for Dandadan (what's notable of them anyway, I believe 1 and 7 are), would you be interested in writing up stuff for episode 1 if I collected sources for it? Also considering character articles as well. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 05:16, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Cukie Gherkin: Hi. I support the idea, but honestly I wouldn't know if I could actively contribute to those articles, but I could contribute some help if I can. Xexerss (talk) 10:28, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well I just created To a Kinder World (I was inspired to finish since you added that interview as a ref idea), so if you see something to improve there, that'd be much appreciated. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 10:30, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
About the plot for Boruto
[edit]just curious, I already shorten the paragraphs of the plot, but why hasn’t anyone else added things for the plot from the new chapters? 2600:1000:B157:6F:7883:D0B7:20CE:C80 (talk) 20:46, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's common for a manga to take its time to progress so only mention the keypoints. There is no need write every battle or character relationships. Tintor2 (talk) 20:54, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Citing amazon
[edit]You say that ((cite AV media)) is preffered when citing Amazon pages, but isn't this template specifically for citing the content of the work, not its metadata (release date, etc)? Also, when using ASIN, cross-region linking dosn't always work if the product is only in co.jp store, for example. Even if the import listing exists, the descriiption is often inferior. Smeagol 17 (talk) 19:23, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Smeagol 17: Template:Cite AV media specifically states,
Do not link to any commercial booksellers, such as Amazon
. It also suggests using 'asin' (Amazon Standard Identification Number) parameteronly if standard identifiers are not available.
Xexerss (talk) 20:08, 4 December 2024 (UTC)- Yes? This is why I preffered the ((cite web)). It cites information about the work, instead of inside it. Smeagol 17 (talk) 20:13, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Smeagol 17: and Template:Cite web points out exactly the same thing about not linking to Amazon. Xexerss (talk) 20:14, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- But you said {cite AV media} is preffered when citing Amazon anyway. It definitely looks cleaner, but it often dosn't work as well as an actual citation... Smeagol 17 (talk) 20:21, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Smeagol 17: I'm only showing what the template indicates. There is also the fact that bots and editors with more knowledge of citations often change direct citations to Amazon to 'cite book' or 'cite AV media', depending on the case. Xexerss (talk) 20:29, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Two new articles to create for you
[edit]Hi @Xexerss, there are two respective new articles to create about two respective manga series (with both TV drama adaptations), can you create them when you have time? They are Takasugi-san's Obento by Nozomi Yanahara and Densetsu no Head Shō by Takeshi Natsuhara and Takashi Hamori.

Sorry, but I have no intention of taking requests at this time.Xexerss (talk) 01:24, 7 December 2024 (UTC)- Done. I made an exception this time. I'll be editing here and there, and I may create a new article from time to time (if I'm interested), but this is the last request I'm taking for now (5 months or even more), so I would appreciate your understanding. Question about nomination for administratorship
[edit]Hello, Xexerss. I am pleased to see your contributions to the fields of anime, manga, and light novels. You are diligent at revising pages, reverting edits, checking facts, and citing sources. With that, and especially your interest and knowledge of anime in mind, I had considered nominating you and Areaseven for administratorship, but per Wikipedia policy, I would like to know if you are comfortable with me doing so. Thank you. Z. Patterson (talk) 20:37, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Z. Patterson: Hello. I am flattered by the recognition, but I really have no interest in being an administrator. I try to be as diligent as possible with my edits, but there are still things I have yet to learn and I don't think I'm ready for such a commitment. I appreciate the consideration anyway. Xexerss (talk) 02:47, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

- @Iruka13: Hi. I left a question at WP:CQ in case you can elaborate more there (I don't know too much about this to be honest). Xexerss (talk) 04:43, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. Yes and no. If it were your photo, under a free license, there would be no problems. But now there is an exploitation of additional rights of the photographer. I also put those files for deletion. Please change the cover of the other two 3D-Bleach-files too. — Ирука13 08:02, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Iruka13: Okay, I understand. There are a few other box set images I uploaded some time ago, given that I was not familiarized with the guideline and I assumed that it was enough to upload the image in low resolution and indicate the corresponding credits, but now reading the guideline more closely, it makes sense to me what you are saying, so I will proceed to change them. Edit summaries
[edit]Re this one. Let's, for the sake of argument, say that SP's dont merit edit summaries. Edit summaries are not just for the benefit of the directly affected editor. Other editors, be they greenhorns or longhorns, also reap the benefits of knowing the reason for an edit without having to investigate. Kind of the point of edit summaries, IYAM. Happy editing, Paradoctor (talk) 01:57, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- P.S.: Do you really expect people to check whether the affected editor may or may not be an SP before deciding whether or not to provide a meaningful edit summary? 🤷 Paradoctor (talk) 02:01, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Paradoctor: You are right and I apologize for that, I should have explained why I reverted the user from the start, but given that they were most likely a sock, I didn't see much point in elaborating, and also I didn't count on you asking me for an explanation, but again, it was my mistake. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Chainsaw Man Box Set 1.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Chainsaw Man Box Set 1.png. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Kyoto Animation edits
[edit]Thanks for the heads up my friend. Just want to let you know that since you reverted the edits to Kyoto Animation and Inuyasha, per the credits page on Anime News Network, KyoAni actually provided the production work for the 30 episodes of Inuyasha. Since they still subcontracted the work to other studios particularly Sunrise, they also did the background work in the 1999 Gundam anime, Turn A Gundam. They also contributed to Crayon Shin-chan, Tales of the Abyss, the 23 episodes of Zillion, the 1981 adaptation of Urusei Yatsura, and Brain Powered. As for KyoAni's involvment of Inuyasha, you can get a good read and the ending credits also confirms it. Hope this helps! 174.93.39.93 (talk) 23:07, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- Please, read WP:ANIMENEWSNETWORK; the info of its encyclopedia is user-submitted, therefore it cannot be cited. In addition, we must limit to mentioning the main companies involved in the work, not those that were merely assisting its production. Xexerss (talk) 03:29, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh I see. But again my friend, the article you reverted should also include sub-contractual work (since I forgot to mention this to you) from the Kyoto Animation article in the Japanese Wikipedia. I could either add that section or maybe not. And maybe try to expand most of the article from there. 174.93.39.93 (talk) 13:00, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Read WP:CIRCULAR; Wikipedia (in all languages) is edited by users. The fact that something just appears there does not mean that we should put that information in the English article as well, even more so when there are no sources to corroborate said information. Nowhere in our WP:A&M project is it mentioned that we should include sub-contractual works. Xexerss (talk) 13:08, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. 174.93.39.93 (talk) 19:31, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

List of Dandadan chapters
[edit]Thanks for creating the article! I had actually planned on doing that myself today had you not done it! GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 23:33, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- @GalaxyFighter55: You're welcome. I just felt the list was getting large, and with the summaries I thought it was time to make the split. Xexerss (talk) 15:16, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]I tried revising Gon Freecss to see if in the future we can nominate it to GA. Feel free to revise anything. Cheers and merry christmas.Tintor2 (talk) 21:19, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Toei Animation
[edit]Per press releases on Toei Animation Inc.'s website, it would appear the international subsidiaries of Toei Animation have the master license to all of their shows such as One Piece (1999 TV series), Dragon Ball Daima, Girls Band Cry, etc... and Crunchyroll, Netflix has just simply got the streaming sublicense like how VIZ Media did with Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. Should that be amended? Let me know if its correct or not... 174.93.39.93 (talk) 19:31, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps you should start another discussion at WT:ANIME, but there was a previous discussion regarding this issue. As I understand it, they handle distribution rights in America but do not directly publish the series, but as I say, I suggest more discussion on the matter. Recommendation
[edit]Hi, I’m requesting and recommending that you write an article about the anime Rakshash Street. It now has its own series. If you don’t mind or if you have free time, please consider it. Thsnk you. 🌼𝓡𝓬 𝓡𝓪𝓶𝔃🍁 (talk) 16:54, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Rc ramz: That's a donghua, not exactly an anime series. Creating anime and manga articles is easier for me because I know where to look for coverage, but I don't know where to look for coverage about Chinese works, I have no experience creating that kind of articles, and frankly I'm not interested. Xexerss (talk) 20:55, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, ok I thought it was Japanese anime...🌼𝓡𝓬 𝓡𝓪𝓶𝔃🍁 (talk) 05:46, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Frieren
[edit]Hello, I know the first GA review of Frieren was a fail. But, a request at WP:GOCE was finished. So, can I have your permission once again for the article to be put on GA nomination?
Cheers! KjjjKjjj (talk) 02:23, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
