Viacheslav Ponomarenko (Ukrainian: В’ячеслав Анатолійович Пономаренко; born 27 September 1982) is a lieutenant colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a participant in the Russo-Ukrainian war. He is Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star. He plays rugby union for the Ukraine national rugby union team.

Rugby union
Ponomarenko is a centre for the Ukraine national team and is a member of RC Olymp which plays in the Ukraine Rugby Superliga. He mde his debut for the national side in 2008.
