The topic sentence needs to state what the actual phenomenon of capacitance is before introducing more complex notions. This one, more or less, straight out an electrical engineering text book. Rub a glass rod with a piece of cloth and it acquires an electrical charge. The glass rod has capacitance which allows it to do so without any visible sign of the amount of charge or the voltage. undo Tag: Reverted

There is no difference in charge, there is only a magnitude of charge and the potential difference between the two conductors or the single conductor and a reference, such as infinity or ground. undo
