However, I completely disagree with some aspects and it's hard to separate these out, so I am reverting to the last stable version - try one step at a time, taking to the talk page if necessary undo Tag: Undo
  • curprev 15:2615:26, 27 July 2022 Em3rgent0rdr talk contribs 76,314 bytes −42 the sentence on power ratio of 10^1/10 versus root-power ratio of 10^1/20 belongs better in this paragraph that talks about the two types of scaling. Also this first "it" that I replaced with "that" was grammatically confusing since "it" was vague...could refer to "decibel" or "bel". So I replaced with that to make clearer that refers to decibel. (though in reality both dB and B are ratio of two values and so work with the rest of the sentence.) undo Tags: Reverted Visual edit

I'm finding can reduce word usage by merging that second paragraph with the first paragraph and simply replacing that introductory phrase with "However,". undo Tags: Reverted Visual edit

That conflicts with the first paragraph that it "is a relative unit of measurement" and "the ratio of two values". I also don't like using the word "absolute value" because that has a precise mathematical definition as distance from 0, which is not what this paragraph is trying to say. undo Tags: Reverted Visual edit
