In no way does the quote remotely reveal the methodology of oral tradition analysis nor is it even remotely good scholarship in textual criticism. The quote is misleading and suggests that all oral tradition is error. A comparison with Misplaced Pages entries of other transmitted knowledge from oral tradition, e.g., Viking Sagas, lacks the same bias. undo
