The study showed that use of valacyclovir for one year did reduce the number of viral particles but did not lead to total eradicaiton undo

Hoshino et al discussed only the theoretical possibility of eradication; the authors didn't propose valaciclovir as a feasible therapy due to its limited activity; the use of antivirals would need to be prolonged (more than a decade, in theory); the study is about the effects on EBV (we shouldn't make statements about the whole herpes family). undo
