It's a very common misconception that people drank alcoholic beverages to avoid drinking unsafe water, but alcoholic beverages are made out of the same drinking water, and water can simply be filtered & boiled. The myth is also easy to debunk since there are still 2 billion people without access to safe drinking water, yet they do not primarily drink alcoholic beverages. Tag: Visual edit
