In fact, he critically wrote poetry when much of what he wrote about (Ontology, cosmology, etc) was gradually (and for the first time ever in history!) being written in new forms (e.g., the philosophical treatise of other pre-Socratic philosophers such as Anaximander or Heraclitus).
