General Note: On one hand, I'd probably like to keep this page archived fairly often, as in general I like to at-a-glance 'unseen items.' But on the other I can be very lazy and probably won't do that. Yes, I know, probably tools and methods aplenty. Still, that other hand can be mighty powerful.

Brown people

Just as a comparison, imagine that we created Sun people and Ice people, per the ideas of Leonard Jeffries: r th

He also stirred controversy with his analysis of whites as "ice people" who are violent and cruel, while blacks are "sun people" who are compassionate and peaceful. He further claims that blacks are superior to whites because of their higher melanin levels, and his lectures often turn to racist and antisemitic tirades.

Then imagine that the Aztecs were separately described on the page due to their affinity for the sun, something (let's pretend) of interest to native sovereignty activists in central Mexico. Once we've done that, we've created a conceptual mess, with no value gained by putting the two description together. Better than to leave Sun people/ice people thing with Jeffries, or include it in the archive of racist pseudoscience, both of which I'm suggesting as options here. If the idea was overwhelmingly notable, let it be presented as system (Sun people/Ice people hypothesis, Five race categorization) If we really think that people must start searching with "brown people", then make the page like Gypsy, just pure disambiguation and avoid pretending it's an encyclopedic concept.--Carwil 23:47, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, if any such term was mentioned enough by different sources such it would would be notable, I would tend to hope that such an article would retain a NPOV, describe the use of the term in its historical content, and refrain from any direct inappropriate content. And as such, I'd expect editors like you and myself to keep an eye over it and using existing policies to keep it such. I do think (or at least hope) that it's fairly evident that that's the sort of thing that I have in mind. An article that mainly relates the past usage of the (outdated) term. I would very much hope that it's clear that I'm not talking about the inclusion of a racist POV, even hidden within subtext.

In any event, I do think your argument has merit. However, I don't think that a misapplication of naming conventions in particular really adds strength. Bitnine 00:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Codes, mkil and more

What's the code to create archives and a rectangle, so my talk appears in a square? Mkil should not touch marciano page, read my note on that talk page. The guy has a talent for speech and knows his way around with words, possibly writes articles and definitely associates in that field, the worse thing about him is he follows me and puts words into my mouth, then gives some wiki policy links trying to justify his merit. That reminds me of Bush's countless excuses to attack Iraq (and Gunatanamo Bay is tragedy too) which most of the country now opposes and recently joined field of defense passed 12-9 resolution opposing it and Senate will do something similar soon. I mean, we have to watch for people like that, even Hitler was a master in speech making, but he was wrong on almost every single thing. Hmmm, that's the comparison, but it's true you know. It's hard to find a good administrator here. Marciano page should be locked longer. Mkil does not care how much time others need to use up on his excuses, rhetoric and arguments.Boxingwear

Well, I believe that archives are done with a form of the div tag, so searching for div will probably get you that information. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure as I've not had occasion to use them.

As for the article, I think we're at the point that things need to go to the next step in dispute resolution. Hopefully mediation can help to work out everyone's concerns. Like I've said, I mainly like to see articles cited and neat because it makes them look better and get better rankings. Anyways, I know these things can be frustrating so I'll see about perhaps getting the attention someone familiar with the DR process to help resolve things. Bitnine 20:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
