Template:User vandalized

Kirkham Grammar School

Hello,

Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.

Thanks! --Vox Causa 21:55, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Moving pages

When moving pages, such as James Kennedy, can you please click the "check for double redirects" link which shows after moving the page, and resolve any double redirects. When moving things to create a disambiguation page, there should be very few pages which link to the disambiguation page after you have cleaned up. Thanks! Angus McLellan (Talk) 17:49, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

What's that?

Something is f***ed the database up!!! Paul Silverman 17:51, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

No, it's the way wiki software works unfortunately. The pages which are left pointing to James Kennedy apparently all refer to James Kennedys we don't have articles on. Quite a few for JFK's ancestor, some for an Ohio politician, and I have no idea about the rest. Nothing to worry about, it usually happens when pages are moved: you find there's all sorts of stuff linked which has nothing to do with the article. Cheers! Sorry

It looked like you tried to repair vandalism by reverting to a wrong version, but after I made my edit, my edit seemed to disappear, and one of my comments magically reappeared without my intervention (don't know what happened to the other one...) AnonMoos 18:08, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Now the first one has disappeared again... AnonMoos 18:11, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Testing

Thank you for experimenting with Misplaced Pages. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Bracewell Smith

Paul, thanks for your feedback, the Bracewell Smith family articles were created in connection to research into the ownership of Arsenal F.C. I think no one had appreciated the importance of this family in the ownership of the club hence the creation of the articles. I also understood a seperate Misplaced Pages group were attempting to detail all Baronets. Off course if I'm overstating the importance of these individuals or their right to a seperate entry I defer to your judgement --Vivbaker 15:29, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Editing experiments on your userpage

While there is no policy here which forbids you to have editing experiments on that page, may I ask you to remove them? The reason is quite simple - thing like the example.jpg are easily added via the editing toolbar, sometimes by accident, sometimes as editing experiments. Thus it is necessary to have a list of all those pages, and reduce that list to 0 entries when possible. As it's impossible to separate the user pages from the list of pages which link to example.jpg/example.ogg/insert text/link title, it will get difficult to find the pages which really need fixes once more users insist on editing experiments on their user page. andy 16:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Alternatively, if you really like having your user page look like that, there are a couple of things you could do to help out (so someone like me doesn't come along and accidentally revert it): (1) use example-serious.jpg instead of example.jpg, and (2) point the "link title" and "example.ogg" links elsewhere, or even nowhere at all (see my example). It would look the same, but alleviate the concerns andy mentioned. Thanks! Dave6 08:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC) Link title
Could you please fix this Paul. Rettetast 17:02, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Gordon Edelstein

You may not recognize the name but his position at an important theater makes him notable! Postcard Cathy 21:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Maybe you meant in the reference desk...

replace "often times" and "oftentimes" with "often"

Can you get your bot to include replacing all instances of "often times" and "oftentimes" with "often", please. They of course mean exactly the same thing, but the first two are not of a formal tone expected. Paul Silverman 12:35, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Paul, that's a good idea, I'll add it to my bot in the next day or two. Cheers, Cmdrjameson 19:03, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

The Unicorn

Hi Paul, there was no vandalism, just removal of a comment with no reference to Misplaced Pages:Username. Religion is always a thorny issue and that particular board is not the place to philosophize. "God" is specifically banned by policy, so your comment did not, imho, add anything to the debate, plus one other editor had already posted a response which indicated the debate could move off-topic. All editors are welcome to contribute at WP:RFCN but debates there should be solely related to usernames, and guided by precedent and the username policy. Please don't take it the wrong way. Cheers, Deizio talk 13:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Wha?

I wasn't vandalizing your userpage, I was reverting vandalism! Did you actually want it like that or something?

Btw, please don't insult me. --真夜中(contrib)7 04:43, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
