Lucaas, I can see from your history that you consider yourself an industrious, productive and positive contributor to Misplaced Pages, for which I commend you. But that only makes it more difficult for me to appeal to you, as I feel I have to do. What I am going to say is not meant in a harsh or critical way, but I do hope that you will reflect on it. I want to appeal to you to seriously reflect upon and consider the following possibilities: (a) that the editors you are insisting on reverting may be in a stronger position than yourself to edit the entry on Being and Time; (b) that the editors you are insisting on reverting may be more competent writers than yourself.

Nothing I say will convince you of these two points, if you are not prepared to consider them for yourself. But I believe that these two points are correct. This is not a question of power or ego. It is a matter of scholarship and competency. I will tell you right now that if you insist on maintaining your ground, you will prevail, but I do not think this will be to the good of the entry, or of the encyclopedia. Your insistence on rejecting wholesale the edits of editors who are working to improve the article is also, by the way, counter to the spirit and etiquette of the Misplaced Pages enterprise (you have reverted to "your" version over 3 times now). As mentioned, I cannot convince you if you will not be persuaded, but I think what you are doing is negative and unfortunate, and I appeal to you again to think whether it just might be the case that what I am saying has more than a grain of truth. ] 10:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Being and Time
