'''Tuvix''', played by ], is a fictional ] character who appears in '']''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s "]". He is a created in 2372 by a ] accident that merges ] crew members ] and ]. Genetically a combination of ] and ], Tuvix possesses both Tuvok's and Neelix's memories and knowledge, but has a single ] and an identity distinct from his progenitors. He names himself "Tuvix" after rejecting "Neevok".
Originally, Tuvix does not regard himself as an individual being, and is willing to be returned to being two people. However, this changes after he spends two weeks on ''Voyager'' acclimating himself to the crew, and them to him. When the ship's ] discovers a means of separating Tuvix into Tuvok and Neelix, Tuvix objects on the grounds that doing so would mean killing a distinct individual. Nevertheless, ] ] orders Tuvix to undergo the separation on the grounds that doing so would restore two other individuals to life. When the Doctor refuses to perform the procedure, Janeway does it herself, successfully bringing back Neelix and Tuvok.
