== History ==
Xirrus was founded in 2003 by Dirk Gates, Patrick Parker, and Steve DeGennaro. Mr. Gates founded ] in 1988 and grew the company to
2,500 employees with a market cap in excess of $2B. Subsequently, Mr. Gates negotiated the sale of Xircom to ] Corp. in March of 2001 for $748. In 2003, Mr. Gates brought together the VP of Engineering at Xircom, Patrick Parker (serving as CEO of Nomadix) and the CFO at Xircom, Steve DeGenarro (serving as CFO of ]) to establish Xirrus.
