There's a chance it might be off, but we can probably watch their blogs to see if they make any mention of it. Yaguruma 19:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure if we should be trustful of a lot of this. Unless there's been another magazine article (and I don't know where it is), I'm thinking we should lay off and see what comes up.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:09, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Uh, no we shouldn't—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.185.125.101 (talk)

I don't really know what your problem is, but Misplaced Pages uses reliable sources.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

French Blog

A French tokusatsu-themed blog is not a reliable source. As such, I have removed all of the stuff that has been translated from there (and horribly). A "Flamand-Rose" is a flamingo, and the above text says GekiPink will be crane-based.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 00:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Thats just the wrong translation. and you should've left it up and as it is. It was correct. You can also get info from magazines, blogs and the Japan super sentai forums.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.185.125.101 (talk)

The wrong translation was not the only problem. We don't know where the blog got its information, and there's no other information about it elsewhere. Forums and blogs are not reliable sources. A magazine is, though.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, then, why is it so hard thanm to askl the person who post it where they got it from. I mean its not that hard.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.185.125.101 (talk)

Well, you can do that, too. Be bold to get information.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

ok—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.185.125.101 (talk)

Martial Arts

I changed it up since Dairanger wasn't a martial arts themed but Chinese Elemental and Mythology/Philisophical series. It more resembles Maskman. 70.185.125.101 03:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I'd say it resembles both of them.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 03:57, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

No, it doesn't.

Dairanger was based on Chinese stuff, as is this series. It resembles both.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:59, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

That doesn't mean it resembles it. Just look at Dairanger's guide and series. It was based on Daos civilization and an inner war between 2 tribes

That's true, but it has simple similarity. Dairanger has Chinese themes, so does Gekiranger. Maskman is martial arts based, so is Gekiranger.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:25, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

....07:24, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Why'd you delete the trivia section.70.185.125.101 07:27, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It's unnecessary. We are supposed to avoid trivia sections, and that information was not trivia, but related to the subject directly.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 07:28, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Uh no you don't have to avoid Trivia sections. That's a lie. Where'd you hear that at? And I think it still counts as Trivia.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.185.125.101 (talk)

It's a Misplaced Pages guideline, Misplaced Pages:Avoid trivia sections in articles. And production times are related directly to the topic of the television show.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 08:19, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It still should be included eventually.70.185.125.101 22:18, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

No, it should never be included. It should be incorporated in another way.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 00:34, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, unless the big leagues say so, I'm going to include when the time comes, as in arrives. For now, let's leave it as it is till it premieres.70.185.125.101 04:30, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Give us a source. Stop disrupting articles this way.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I hardly call that disrupting and when my source gives me the go ahead I will.70.185.125.101 04:39, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

...Just give us a direct link and it will be included. Your "source" cannot be reputable unless it is available to several people.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:52, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

We'll work on it. I sent them an email asking if I'm able to use the url, and thread link.70.185.125.101 07:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

GEKIRANGER SURNAMES

WHO THE HELL deleted the names for our heroes?70.185.125.101 05:11, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Where were they in the first place?—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Listed here. Ryu, did you delete the other stuff such as the press release information? Also check Rangerboard, they are bad mouthing you, in the OO cast thread and the Jetix OO thread.70.185.125.101 21:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh, frankly I'm not giving a crap about that right now. I realized why I was wrong, and now I'm just staying a bit away from the general discussion board.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

If you say so.74.195.3.11 17:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

New name

Now the name isn't even Gekiranger, テキトージャ Tekitoenger/Tatakaiger? Yaguruma 06:06, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

That's the name of the mecha, GekiTooja (ゲキトージャ, GekiTōja).—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 06:09, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I also found this as the title: ズバット戦隊テキトージャ could it be that they're integrating the mecha name into the title? Yaguruma 06:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Someone typed something up wrong at whatever board it comes from, Hyperdash(?). Zubat Sentai Tekitorger (ズバット戦隊テキトージャ, Zubatto Sentai Tekitōjā) means nothing.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 06:15, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

That'd be me actually. Yeah, people on the Japanese boards are making a joke saying that the red ranger looks like the 70's toku hero, Zubat, who's title is an onomatopoeia for a whip cracking. Gekiranger's the title then, considering the mech's do have "Geki" in the title. Sorry for the mix up. Yaguruma 06:22, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

S'okay. It's a pain in the ass getting grilled at RB though for knowing some Japanese (language and people), though.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 06:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Not sure if this is the right place to add this but Jyuken does not mean Beast-Fist. Beast Fist is a transliteral defintion of the two characters. If you place the character Fist with other character it becomes either "Form" or in this case "Arts". I think its techincally Beast Art Sentai Gekiranger. Take the word 泰拳 for example. It takes the word Thai (from Thailand) and Ken which means fist. Together it makes Thai Boxing and not Thai-Fist. And the show has mentioned it as Beast Arts and not Beast Fist.

Well, this is a literal translation of the kanji for Beast and Fist put together. The name is on the same lines as shoryuken, hadouken, or other fictional martial arts styles.—Ryūlóng () 22:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

So now it's not martial arts anymore?

Since it's tiger, cheetah, jaguar, it's more of wild animals eh?

The http://en.wikipedia.org/Gekiranger entry is different from http://en.wikipedia.org/Juuken_Sentai_Gekiranger —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.83.13.135 (talk) 15:10, 8 December 2006 (UTC).

It's probably martial arts still, but just focused on cats.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 21:07, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Not really. According to the buzz, producers and confirmed rumors in Japan as of 12-10, has it that they changed their mind at the last minute.74.195.3.11 17:33, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

GekiBlue has tonfa, GekiRed has nunchaku, and they have a mentor who is a "Juuken Master." I would think that martial arts is retained here.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 18:08, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Its nowhere in the scans, so no.

It's martial arts, just not the five animals schools.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:00, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

then why are the Asahi groups and press stating different?74.195.3.11 23:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I don't know... If I'm going to give my characters nunchaku and tonfas, I think martial arts are retained somewhat. Could you link?—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:07, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Remember Ohranger had all those weapons as well. Those 3 could be associated with cops, armed forces, nature and scientist.74.195.3.11 00:10, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Logo

The official logo for Juuken Sentai Gekiranger is on the first page of the most recently released scans. I think it should be somehow incorporated into the article by now. --GreenNinja 20:30, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do with the scan (unless you've got it all cropped and whatnot).—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:42, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Done.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Greeny's back. Whats up dawg? Yeah I have the logo as well.74.195.3.11 22:55, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Belts

I've seen mentions of "The Gekirangers don't have belts" repeatedly here and on the main Super Sentai article. It is omitted from mention because it is a random piece of trivia that is really of no importance. There only seem to be a handful of people who feel slighted that the Gekirangers' suits lack belts, and others that welcome the change. It's not really an issue that requires mention, much like something that states that GekiRed's actor's second cousin was a stunt double in Kamen Rider Kabuto GOD SPEED LOVE for Kamen Rider Hercus.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Trivia

We will have NONE of it in this article. NONE AT ALL. Look what happened to the Boukenger article, its a complete mess.

If there's something truly worth mentioning, we'll find some other way to integrate it into the article. NO FREAKING TRIVIA. Seriously, who cares where the suits were based off of, especially since it was just a sad piece of OR.

So STOP ADDING USELESS SHIT.

Thank you and have a nice day. :-) | Floria L 21:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

I've axed out a lot of the most trivial trivia; I'm pretty sure that the rest of the Boukenger trivia can be intergrated elsewhere. Anyway, yes, NO TRIVIA, this has led to relentless original research and extremely petty observations. Boukenger was the first series to "not feature a tense relationship between the leader and the second-in-command"? The song is the third not to mention the full title in the song? Seriously, what the heck? INTERGRATE IT ELSEWHERE. Hbdragon88 08:30, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but the princess is in another castle.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 08:33, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Unconfirmed cast members

Both of these have been stated by dukemon that they are part of the cast, but there is nothing on the web yet that mentions them and Gekiranger in the same context. Yuka Hirata's page has Mere and Gekiranger, so she is a confirmed cast member.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

The update on the D-Boys site that confirmed Hiroki Suzuki as GekiRed also mentions that Hirohumi Araki was also casted as Kotowari. 75.105.184.82 21:27, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:58, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I have a sub question. Where can I find promos for Gekiranger? Did they start with episode 45 of Boukenger and how many eps is that show having?74.195.3.199 03:19, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

One aired with Task 45. The rest come from magazine scans.—Ryūlóng () 03:46, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
We know nothing about the length of the series.—Ryūlóng () 03:46, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Well actually, I looked at a Japanese site back in October and they said it had 50 episodes anda movie ordered but that's not what I meant, Ryu.74.195.3.199 07:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh. Next week is Bouken Task 46, which means we may have at most five more weeks of Bouken, as Geki airs in six weeks from today's date.—Ryūlóng () 08:23, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Pretty sure something from TV-Asahi a while back said Bouken would only have 49 episodes, just like Kabuto this year. There's probably one more break in there. Floria L 22:07, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Future tense

Almost this entire article is currently written in future tense, using the word will over and over. Wouldn't it'd be more appropriate to say she IS portrayed by and such, instead of using will over and over again. Its obviously going to have to be changed once the series starts, and since the promos have started airing, it pretty much means they are already portraying the characters. Floria L 22:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Will fix.—Ryūlóng () 22:53, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I notice that alot too.74.195.3.199 22:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Regarding New Information

I apologize but I don't know how to place a reference but here is the link to the scan where I got this last edition's information. http://www.101fwy.net/tokua/src/1169023972648.jpg Filadelfo 07:48, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Upload it to photobucket/imageshack. Use {{cite web}} and ref tags like I did. :) I would, but it's too late over here for me to get indepth in anything.—Ryūlóng () 07:56, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Also, where are you getting "Riou" for "理央"? My translator gives me "Rio", which is a woman's name, actually (I can't find "Kotowari" though, anywhere).—Ryūlóng () 08:13, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
The scans have the yomigana in parenthesis. Filadelfo 19:34, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
That one has furigana (it's saved on my computer as the link died)?—Ryūlóng () 19:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see it. Have you integrated info on Den-O from that, as well?—Ryūlóng () 19:56, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

It looks like he has. Also I'm not even looking forward to THAT series.74.195.3.199 23:31, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Translation and Transliteration

I have just chanced (for the second time) the Rinjuuken name from "Evil Style" to "Akugata" for reasons stated in the summary. To avoid future discrepancies, I think we should unify opinions on what should be translated and what should be just transliterated. Filadelfo 22:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I've started a thread on this at WT:TOKURyūlóng () 22:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Nice, Ryu.02:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Episode Summaries

When it airs, would anyone have any adverse opinions on making an episode summary page in the same vain as the recent Kamen Rider series? Yaguruma 22:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

That'd be a lot better than what we have for Boukenger right now. Those episode summaries are spread out on five articles :/—Ryūlóng () 22:45, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Rio and Kuroshishi

Are they not the same person? If so, my bad, but i thought the scans depicted that as his second form, just as Mere has a chameleon form. Floria L 20:02, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

That's what the scans had in Filadelfo's translation. Mele has a Beast-Man form, which is the chameleon one. Lio may have one, but right now, Kuroshishi's identity is unknown.—Ryūlóng () 22:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Pardon, but doesn't it make better sense if Rio is a romanized name for "Lio"? User:Fractyl
The latest scans use "Rio" which is how the kanji are read, anyway. On the same page, they have "Mele" which would normally be read as "Mere."—Ryūlóng () 02:15, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I thought "Lio" is the proper enlish term, plus it follows the "animal-name" pun as Mele. User:Fractyl
We are using what is used in English writing in Japanese contexts. The ModXToy thing uses "Rio" and "Mele". "Lio" was just our translation until a real one came about.—Ryūlóng () 02:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
The Opening credits hint Rio to be Black Lion. User:Fractyl
Yes, we see this now.—Ryūlóng () 02:30, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Article title

I'm not fond of using TV-Nihon's translations on Misplaced Pages. They're not an official source, and nonstandard romanisations are only to be used if they are official. I'd also rather not give TV-N the attention...TV-Nihon members have, in the past, disruptively edited Misplaced Pages in order to aggressively push POV, and given that they've used their news page and forum to attack people in the past, I don't see why they should be regarded as credible, nor why they should be given the attention they crave. Thus, I propose that the page be moved to Jūken Sentai Gekiranger until the official DVDs are released, and then it should be moved to what the official title on the DVDs state. jgpTC 03:42, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Or we could go back to "Juuken"—Ryūlóng () 04:05, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
I believe that it should be "Juuken" and I have "proof." Now please take this with a grain of salt like always. If you look at the characters that make up "Choujuu" from "Choujuu Sentai Liveman," "Seijuu" from "Seijuu Sentai Gingaman," and "Hyakujuu" from "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger," they all share the "獣" Symbol. So far, the translations on Misplaced Pages have consistently been translated to the romanization "juu." In this season, the 獣 symbol appears again. This time it is being debated to whether or not we translate it to "juu," "jū," or "jyu." I think that we should keep it consistent and translate the series name to "Juuken Sentai Gekiranger" like it was in the first place. This is my beliefs and I would appreciate any other people's opinions on this topic. As always, thank you.スミス ナサニアル 23:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
The problem is that we don't know how the production company is going to transliterate the title. We found "Mahou Sentai Magiranger" and "GoGo Sentai Boukenger" on DVD cases, and that's why the articles are where they are. However, we do not have DVD boxes for Gekiranger yet.—Ryūlóng () 02:58, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, I've done it. It shouldn't be too long for the DVDs to come out.—Ryūlóng () 04:15, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

We ALREADY knew the titles for Magiranger and I still say its Gougou not GoGo.16:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

We knew how the titles were written in Japanese. Not how they are transliterated into English. And despite what you think, we are using an official transliteration from Asahi (which I explained on your talk page)—Ryūlóng () 01:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Uh, YES, WE DID. If you mean magical Task Force Magiranger, who cares?74.195.3.199 02:14, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

We do not know how we should write in the Roman alphabet. That is what this discussion is about. We are not discussing translation. We're talking about romaji.—Ryūlóng () 02:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

well, you SHOULDA said that to begin with.74.195.3.199 04:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

........ But he did. Also, Hepburnly, it is ok to use waporo and replace the mancronated U with two U's. Makes it easier for user to search up the page and access it. Floria L 01:38, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I would prefer that we find the way that tv asahi or Toei is going to transliterate it, which could be with one u, a yu, or other forms.—Ryūlóng () 02:35, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

BATTLE SONG

I added the next song, Ryu but I can't get the kanji fixed. Can you please re-edit it?74.195.3.199 00:58, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Not sure it should be added like that, since the battle song isn't usually listed under as a main theme. Can fix later if im wrong. Floria L 02:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Holsters

Can we please include a section on the 4 series that didn't have these as well? The other being JAKQ, Goranger and Timeranger.74.195.3.199 04:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

That would be triviaRyūlóng () 05:39, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

And....74.195.3.199 19:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

No trivia here. We're setting precedent for this year's series.—Ryūlóng () 19:40, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I see.74.195.3.199

Takayuki Miyauchi

Ryulong -- http://www.t-miyauchi.com/ I trust you can find the blog there, I shouldn't have to do everything for you. It's among his latest entry, providing you actually know Japanese.Unasu 23:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

That's kinda mean and I think he IS indeed Japanese.74.195.3.199 03:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I am not Japanese. However, I cannot find the information at the blog *TOMORROW* or whatever it was called.—Ryūlóng () 03:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I didn't intend to be mean, but I find it rude of Ryulong to remove every information that's not provided by him. I don't like rumors and don't make things up, I like for things to be accurate.Unasu 05:49, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I didn't remove it because I didn't provide it. There was just no source for it (none that I could find until I looked for the kanji)—Ryūlóng () 05:55, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Well you shouldn't have taken my information out a second time. I re added the information, I stated my source but you took the entry out because you couldn't find the source. Instead of making new addition to the discussion section asking me to give you a link you just took the information out again.

I'm not like the other people who come here to add Dukemon's rumors. If I add any information it's accurate.Unasu 06:41, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
