Cuenca, who comes from ], ] is an experienced pageant veteran who competed for five consecutive years before winning the crown, including placing second runner-up three times.<ref>{{cite news|title=Chalmette native competes for title |publisher=Times-Picayune|date=2004-10-31|page=07|first=Barry|last=Lemoine}}</ref> Cuenca first appeared on the Louisiana pageant stage in 1999, when she placed second runner-up. She returned the following year for the Miss Louisiana USA 2001 pageant, where she made the top 12. Cuenca returned and equalled her second runner-up placement in the 2002 and 2003 pageants, and then made the top ten in 2004. Cuenca returned for her final chance at the title in the 2006 pageant, which was due to be held in ] in November 2005 but was postponed until January 2006 due to the effects of ] on her state.

Cuenca won the title ] 2006 in her final attempt, and was crowned by ] of ]. To win the crown, she edged out big favorite ], Miss World USA 2004 and 2nd runner up at the ] pageant. Randall was 1st runner up. As a survivor of ], Cuenca has been involved as a volunteer in the rebuilding efforts in ]. She had the opportunity of appearing in a Miss USA special episdode of ] that was taped in ] in March 2006 and broadcast the week of the Miss USA pageant preliminaries in April.

Cuenca represented her state in the nationally televised ] pageant broadcast live from ] on April 11, 2006. Despite being widely favored by pageant fans on the Voy message boards, Cuenca failed to make the semi-finals. The pageant was won by ] of ].

Having graduated from ] in 1997, Cuenca completed a ] in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast ] from ] in 2004. She is currently working as an ] and ] and is active with ], a theatrical group in St Bernard. Her work as a model has taken her to ], ] and ].

Cuenca was recently seen in the Windows 7 Phone commercial (first aired during the 2010 World Series) as the woman wearing black lingerie attempting to seduce her husband.

Cuenca's hobbies and interests include ], ] ], ] cooking, going to Saints football games and traveling abroad.
