Samboy, I understand why you are offended by the images, but Misplaced Pages tries to cover many subjects that many, including me, find offensive. In relation to the specific subjecr, the images (which I posted) and are mild compared to many and are important to the topic of the article.

::Hi Samboy, you've hit on the point. The entire subject is disgusting. How long ago did you first come upon the article? Until I and GBWR and Ed Poor happened on it, it was a surreal apology for pedophilia, which essentially said: "We are your friends and neighbors. Most of us mean no harm to your children except that we want to change the law, society, education, and parental rights so that we can liberate them and incidentally allow us to have sexual access to them."

<table class="messagebox " style="border: 1px solid #AAA; background: ivory; padding: 0.5em; width: 100%;">
::Misplaced Pages standards do not allow the article to be deleted (you could try listing on VfD, but I'm afraid you might be shocked by the response). What we do is try to move it to NPoV. That means that, if the article accurately reflects what people in the movement say and advocate, it is appropriate material. That does ''not'' mean it can be posted without balance and criticism. As to the specific pictures, let me tell you why they are important. The article attempts to make pedophilia seems like just another sexual preference which should not be controversial. The images, from the movement's own literature, shows what advocates really do. Delete the images, and you delete an important perspective for the non-pedophilic reader. The images are not pornographic and not, in and of themselves, disgusting. It is what they accurately ''imply'' that disgusts people. That is why it is so important they remain in the article. -- Cheers! ] | ] 20:11, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

:::I hit the page by hitting on "Random Page", which is my home page in Firefox. Can NPOV articles be hit by the "Random Page" link? I am, of course, a little hurt that an edit of mine was reverted, but I try to be balanced about it by putting up a relevent paragraph on the talk page in question. In a case of an article like this, I think the only real NPOV is to say, in polite terms, "This is a bunch of BS abusive people use to justify their behavior". Considering that four people, including myself, have deleted these images in just the last week, it is obvious that these images strike a very discordant chord with many people. My first reaction was, "My God, Misplaced Pages has pedophiles who get off on pictures of little kids and revert people's attempts to remove such images". Again, thanks for you POV. ] 20:23, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Atlantium is a large global organisation with around 1000 members in dozens of countries, including serving and former diplomats, senior government officials, scientists and political activists. It has received extensive press, radio and TV coverage - including by Reuters (worldwide), ZDF TV (Germany), BBC Radio (worldwide), The Sydney Morning Herald (Australia), The Guardian (UK) and many, many others. Can you explain such behaviour? I can't. If you conduct some research on the site you will find pdf copies of many newspaper articles and photographs supporting various of my contentions in the relevant sections. With regard to the constant edits by 69.133.93.199: I notice that, before he came along, the ] article (the one I happened to look at for a sample of his edits) had a link to Kasparov's games at muljadi.org. That site, like 69.133.93.199's, appears to be noncommercial except for the Google ads at the top. One difference between them is that, when I go to muljadi.org, I encounter some kind of error and can't play the games, whereas I can play them at 69.133.93.199's site. While I certainly agree with you that 69.133.93.199's behavior is extremely offputting, there remains a serious question about whether we have any reason to prefer one such free site over another. Speedy deletion nomination of ValhallaDSP

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ValhallaDSP, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. •≈20+π 20:13, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

Samboy I apologize for my wording at the Biden Talk page. I was operating from frustration and have no real excuse. I will update my entry. I am not always the best with wording, so it might take me a bit, but I wanted to get this out here first. Regards. --Davemoth (talk) 20:57, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the apology. It shows a strong character and a good person to do that, and you have earned my respect. If I have offended you in any way personally, I apologize too. I look forward to your continued contributions to the Misplaced Pages. Samboy (talk) 12:04, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

I don't know if it applies or not, but I've tried to file for a third opinion regarding the wording of Marvin Minsky's window's claim, per wp:3o:

It is recommended that the filing editor notifies the second editor about the post here. If the second editor disagrees with this process, the first editor still has the right to receive a third opinion; however, since this is non-binding, the second editor is free to ignore the third opinion if they wish to.

I field the issue as 'Disagreement over the use of the term "all of the visits to Epstein's residences".' Regards, Rolf H Nelson (talk) 22:26, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

I see the third opinion request was denied. While consensus can change, it hasn’t for the Marvin Minsky article. I don’t think consensus will change unless new information comes out, which is unlikely since Minsky passed away several years ago.
On a personal level, while I feel #MeToo has been a much needed counterbalance to the Free love movement started in the 1960s, it has also become in some ways a witch hunt. People tend to believe lurid stories of sex without looking at the evidence; see, for example the Duke lacrosse case or how many people believed the A Rape on Campus story, so I am very careful when it comes to allegations of sexual misconduct. Fantasque Sans Mono is a beautiful open source font, no one is making money from the font, and it in no ways harms the Misplaced Pages to have a short article about something like this. It’s unfortunate rampant deletionism took over the Misplaced Pages; the Clarice Phelps affair shows how bad it has gotten. Samboy (talk) 22:12, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

ARP 2600

Hello Samboy, I’d like to add Mary McCarty Snow to the user list in the ARP 2600 article, but I can’t figure out how to add the footnote. She composed with the ARP 2600 and actually wrote a book about it:

Snow, Mary (1977-01-01). The waveform music book: Composing, teaching, performing electronic music with the Arp 2600 synthesizer. Lariken Press.

Could you explain how to add the footnote, or point me towards instructions? Thanks. T. E. Meeks (talk) 21:55, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

Do you have a reference backing up their use of the 2600? information on the Misplaced Pages should always be referenced. Samboy (talk) 00:02, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Well, it looks like they finally filed an unblock request. A blank one, mind you, but they filed one. We’ll just have to block their IP range from making new accounts for a while and block any other sock puppets they make. Samboy (talk) 13:49, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
