I think the main theme of this entry should be the usage of the term in Star Wars and the band by the same name should either have its own entry or be a minor sub entry. —Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 00:15, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Buffy theme

Hmm, perhaps my claim that their best known piece is the theme tune is false. But it's the only piece I've heard. :-)

I'll have no objections to someone deleting that, if they feel that way.

I'm would agree that the Buffy theme is their most well known piece, but I would point out that very few people know who performs it.

The part about Power Rangers songs is confusing. Did Nerf Herder record the original songs for the TV series, or do they just perform cover versions of them in their shows?

I'm not certain... If they did, they don't seem to mention it on their website... Also, I've cross-referenced it to Geek rock and also to Nerdcore Hiphop (as they do mention nerdcore in the "did you know" part of their website)

This article says what a nerf herder is without explaining what a "nerf" is. And I have no idea. Tim Long 02:41, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

1) Yes. Nerf Herder did record the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme song for the TV show. 2) A nerf in the Star Wars Expanded Universe is an animal that nerf herders herd. You really don't need to kow any more. If you are really desperate then search it on Google or Wookieepedia. Research, it's a lost art.
They didn't do the Power Rangers theme - not least because the show first aired before the band was even formed! Given how much the fact that they did the Buffy theme is talked about, surely if they'd done the PR theme it would have been mentioned at least once on their website. I have never heard the suggestion that they did the PR theme outside of this WP talk page. Seb Patrick 12:39, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Star Wars section

I would think that the section describing a nerf herder in the star wars universe should be moved to its own page and linked from here. User:Rsciaccio

Additions

Alot needs to be done with this article. I've been a fan since I first saw these guys years ago, I never even knew about that whole Buffy thing so that section is suspect. I'm not going to add/remove alot but I'll be watching this page. Crumnut 15:30, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

What do you mean by "suspect"? You only have to watch the closing credits of a Buffy episode to know they did the theme tune! Seb Patrick 17:36, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
What I meant was it may not be what they are most known for. Then again, what do I know since I have never really watched Buffy. It should be fine the way it is written, mentioning it and the Van Halen single.16:28, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I realised afterwards that that was what you probably meant. *slaps forehead* Anyway, yeah, given that they never really had a hit after "Van Halen", and that millions of people worldwide have seen Buffy, it's probably safe to say that those two are their most notable hours (even if not necessarily their best)... External link suggestion: New interview with Parry Gripp of Nerf Herder

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this interview with Parry Gripp. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the interview and—if he or she sees fit—post it to the external links section. I appreciate your time. Crawdaddy!
