{{U|AdamDeanHall}} I commented out the end date that you added, because the situation is in flux and nothing is yet firm. I think it odd to put an end date before it happens at any rate, as this is an encyclopedia not the daily newspaper or a letter from the head of the television station. I am pleased that other editors like {{U|Wcquidditch}}, {{U|Budgib}} and {{U|Mvcg66b3r}} have the latest sources on what is under discussion, and that is fine to be quoted in the article with the references, in my view. I hope you can wait to put an end date in the infobox until after that end date passes, and we all know the new status of WYCC, after these discussions with WTTW bear fruit. --] (]) 04:16, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

There have been several changes of the date in February 1983 when WYCC opened as a PBS station in the info box. The latest change can be seen . It is the latest in a string of such changes that began with this one , and the change is made by an IP address. In the text of the article, in the sixth paragraph of the History section, it says "In 1982, Oscar Shabat, founding Chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago, asked the consortium to release the dormant license; on February 2, 1983, channel 20 was reborn as WYCC (standing for "We are Your City Colleges"). In its modern history, the station featured a variety of programming on three digital subchannels, including those provided by PBS, those produced locally, and international news and educational programs."

I have reverted it a few times, as has another editor. I put a message to stop on one IP address talk page. The next change to February 17 was done by an IP address with a slightly different address (still a long string starting with 2601:240:e400}. These changes of the date in the info box are the only posts by these IP addresses. Can they be blocked, or the article be locked for a week or two? --] (]) 23:17, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Hold on the end date in the infobox until arrangement with WTTW is known and in effect

AdamDeanHall I commented out the end date that you added, because the situation is in flux and nothing is yet firm. I think it odd to put an end date before it happens at any rate, as this is an encyclopedia not the daily newspaper or a letter from the head of the television station. I am pleased that other editors like Wcquidditch, Budgib and Mvcg66b3r have the latest sources on what is under discussion, and that is fine to be quoted in the article with the references, in my view. I hope you can wait to put an end date in the infobox until after that end date passes, and we all know the new status of WYCC, after these discussions with WTTW bear fruit. --Prairieplant (talk) 04:16, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Which date is correct for first air date as WYCC in info box?

There have been several changes of the date in February 1983 when WYCC opened as a PBS station in the info box. The latest change can be seen here. It is the latest in a string of such changes that began with this one here, and the change is made by an IP address.

I take this to mean that February 2, 1983 is the relevant and correct date for the info box. Is there a way to stop the continuing changes by these IP addresses? I have reverted it a few times, as has another editor. I put a message to stop on one IP address talk page. The next change to February 17 was done by an IP address with a slightly different address (still a long string starting with 2601:240:e400}. These changes of the date in the info box are the only posts by these IP addresses. Can they be blocked, or the article be locked for a week or two? --Prairieplant (talk) 23:17, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
