== Talk:Scott Baio ==

This is in use on the ] page, but instead of linking to the talk page archives, it links to a long list of random Misplaced Pages articles. Can you fix it, and tell me what was wrong in the syntax that made it do that, please? ] (]) 15:18, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

== GDPR ==

At ] there's a long string of unrelated articles instead of links to archives (probably the same error as the section above) which makes the archive box at ] look really strange. 05:25, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
:The <code>archiveprefix=</code> field is required for the template to work correctly. I've corrected it on the mentioned page. -- ](]&#124;]&#124;]) 04:45, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
::I've manually cleared the list at above page and also ]. --] (]): 05:42, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

== Talk:Cantor's diagonal argument ==

There's some confusion with automatic archiving of ]. As far as I can see, there are the following archive pages:
* ]
* ] (created by ClueBot III)
* ] (created by ClueBot III)
Only the first archive page in that list is referenced by the archive index.

Apparently, there's some mistake with using the script, but I don't see it. Can someone more knowledgable than me please fix this? (In the mean time I have managed to only make the mess worse by moving ] to ], leaving a redirect from ] to ], and now ClueBot III has added archived content to ].) – ] (]) 06:20, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
:{{Reply to|prefix=Hello,&#32;|Tea2min|p=.}} I popped over to ] and glanced at the source. Based on the instructions at ], the culprit is likely the bot not recognizing ] apostrophes. I would recommend ''not'' Unicoding the apostrophe, being as the plaintext apostrophe is part of their user name. Don't forget to fix the &#124;index&#61; parameter as well. I'm a little puzzled as to why the index parameter has been given so much data, but my experience isn't good enough to properly access it. {{Reply to|prefix=Based on your experience, what might you suggest,&#32;|Trialpears|p=?}}<br /><span class="nowrap">&#8212;&#160;]&#160;(]) 20:34, 21 November 2021 (UTC)</span>

== Archive box ==

Currently there is an option to add an custom coded archive box. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to use {{tl|Archive}} when this parameter is used. Ping to {{u|cobi}}. --] (]) 23:03, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
:Uhh, are you sure {{tl|Archive}} is the template you're looking for? That's for marking the top of an archive page, not for generating a navigation box on the original page, it seems. -- ](]&#124;]&#124;]) 20:22, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
::No, it's {{tl|Archives}} I meant. --] (]) 20:23, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

== Nowiki tags ==

Are the <code>&#60;nowiki&#62;</code> tags in the examples supposed to be displayed for users to directly copy–paste the parameters (redundancy)? <span class="nowrap">&#8212;&#160;]&#160;(]) 06:42, 16 November 2021 (UTC)</span>

== 1st time user; did not archive Yapperbot's "Feedback request" ==

Please see {{diff|User talk:Peaceray|1151254694|1151126807|this edit}}. For some reason, '''User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis''' did not archive Yapperbot's "Feedback request". Am I failing to do something correctly? Here is my code.
{{pre|<nowiki>
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis
| age=1440

| header={{talk archive|User talk:Peaceray}}{{User talk:Peaceray/Archive sidebar}}
| minkeepthreads=5
| minarchthreads=2

The header parameter is also choking on the double templates, but I can live with that for now. ] (]) 05:22, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

== Broken archive box at ] ==

::Huh, did ClueBot III need to run again or something? Well... the problem's at least fixed! <span style="background-color: black">] ] ]</span> 21:19, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
:::@]: It only updates ] afaik, but that page isn't being transcluded onto the talk page. So, I'm assuming that the talk page needed a refreshing of the archive box, i.e., a ] to force an immediate one. <span class="nowrap">&#8212;''']'''</span> (] • {]•]}) 21:35, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

== Feeling really dumb - any pointers? ==

My archive box code looks like this:
{{pre|<nowiki>
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis
| age=4320
| archiveprefix=User talk:FOARP/Archives/
| minkeepthreads=4
| minarchthreads=2
| format=Y/F
}}
{{Archives|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]
|*]}}</nowiki>
}}
But only the first archive is listed in the resulting archive list. I can't see what's wrong with it though - any pointers? ] (]) 15:43, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

:{{tl|Archives}} takes just 1 positional argument if you intend to manually define the list. You'll need to replace the <code>|*</code> at the start of each line with just <code>*</code> to make it a normal bulleted list. Alternatively, some of the templates under {{tl|Templates for archiving}} might be useful for doing such a thing automatically (E.g. {{tlx|Monthly archive list|2=root=<nowiki>{{FULLPAGENAME}}</nowiki>/Archives|3=startyear=2021|4=monthformat=longname}} looks like it could be useful). ] (]) 15:58, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
::Many thanks Aidan! It works! ] (]) 16:12, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

== Nothing is wrong ==

The template instance at ] displays

Which is weird, given that none of the input values contains this character. <span style="display:inline-block;position:relative;transform:rotate(-3deg);bottom:-.1em;">]</span> (]) 16:03, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

:This is an issue with {{tl|Talk header}}, not this template. I've gone ahead and left a message at {{slink|Template talk:Talk header|Broken case}}. ] (]) 17:11, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
::Thanks. <span style="display:inline-block;position:relative;transform:rotate(-3deg);bottom:-.1em;">]</span> (]) 18:30, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
