== Corrections made == |
I made three changes to the main article on 1/25/2005. |
1) corrected the assertion that Czolgosz had a nervous breakdown. There was no diagnosis made and no way to really determine whether this was the case. |
2) corrected "speeches" of Goldman to one speech which is all that he is known to have attended. |
3) added "as far as we know" to point about LC not belonging to any groups. He left home in July, traveled between Cleveland, Buffalo, and Chicago for six weeks. Little is known about his activities or associations during that time. |
These and other matters are treated in depth in a fictional context in my historical novel The Anarchist (Willowbrook Press, 2001). The book includes end notes with a discussion of materials available to researchers. |

I added the quote from the ''Free Society'' ] thinking that it was useful to show that his fascination with violent ] forced the rest of the ] ] to not trust him. Adios ] |

== Second to last paragraph == |
Shouldn't the paragraph about the gun Czolgosz used be moved to earlier in the article? Is the serial number of the gun relevant at all? |
==Assassins== |
I don't think the comment of Guiteau being alive at the time of McKinleys assassination in the section on Sondheim's musical is accurate. Their is not a strict chronology to this play, and the assassins can interact with each other regardless of the period of their lives. Later in the play, for example, the assassins who came ''after'' Oswald plead with him to kill Kennedy in order to make their acts mean something. |

The actual event wasn't filmed, it was a reconstruction. |

== Error in opening sentence of lead == |
The opening sentence of the lead says that Leon Czolgosz assassinated President McKinley on September 6, 1901. THAT IS FALSE INFORMATION because McKinley died on September 14, 1901. A person cannot be assassinated (killed) eight days before his death. You have two options from this point; correct the error or let it stand.] (]) 14:18, 13 November 2019 (UTC) |

Seems reasonable to me to describe it as assassination, with the victim dying 8 days later from wounds. ] (]) 11:52, 7 May 2020 (UTC) |

The "Belarussian-Jewish" story referenced in the article is completely made up. American and Polish genealogists have pinpointed the wedding of Paul Czolgosz and Mary Nowak to the church in Strzelce near Inowroclaw, Poland. Their marriage record is registered under #1 in 1867 in the marriage register of the Strzelce parish. Czolgosz is a rare Polish name only existing in this corner of Poland. The Czolgoszes settled in Alpena, Michigan among many other Catholic Polish families coming from Prussian Poland in the same period. ] (]) 14:10, 16 February 2024 (UTC) |

Czolgosz should get a national holiday. Consider: |
== Burial location??? == |
* Robber barons donated so much money to McKinley he outspent his opponents 50:1. |
* William Jennings Bryan did not have a chance due to the robber barons. |
* McKinley was the most corrupt and influenced politician in the race. |
* McKinley was shot, but his surgeons killed him by sticking their dirty fingers in the hole. |
* Roosevelt took office and implemented lots of reforms. |
* Child labor practically ended under Roosevelt. |
* Work weeks were standardized at 46 hours under Roosevelt. |

The net result was, great improvements for American workers under Roosevelt even though the robber barons bought the presidency. |

1. (Trial and Execution) The body was buried on prison grounds following the autopsy. |
Instead of Columbus day, we should celebrate Czolgosz day. Columbus was bigger murderer then Czolgosz. |

2. (Legacy) Czolgosz is buried at Soule Cemetery in Cayuga County, New York. ] (]) 12:22, 26 May 2024 (UTC) |

We should not be honoring Columbus. Columbus committed genocide on indigenous populations. Czolgosz killed one person which improved life for 10's of thousands of Americans. |
