== Hi my fellow Wikipedians, I Have two important questions to ask, please reply: ==

I created KML data for this draft, ], in the References section, and converted it to GeoJSON, but upon loading, it just throws an error. How can I fix this? <span style="font-family:monospace; font-weight: bold"><span style="color:ForestGreen">]</span>: ] <span style="">$</span></span> 19:33, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
'''Background:''' I been editing the ] ] for the past year now and i been trying to improve the articles little by little as i have time and try to find sources. Lately I been stuck at the fact that I don't know what Mapping or Modeling Software to use to create these maps and here is where my questions come along...

2)Is it okay if I choose to use the Same U.S Road Map Standards for the Dominican Republic's NHS. The Standards are convenient and well-established for more than 5,000 maps so I see this as a convenient move...Is that okay?

:#Most of the people around here are using QuantumGIS/qgis because it's free, unlike AcrGIS that's a commercial product with a hefty licensing fee. There's a ] for creating maps, but you'll have to find the GIS data for the Dominican Republic.
:#Feel free to use the standards. We don't claim anything exclusive on them.
:If you have questions, feel free to pop on IRC and ask us questions. (I don't do maps myself at the moment, but others who do are in the channel.) There are even an ] on how to get into the highways IRC channel. <span style="background:#006B54; padding:2px;" >''']&nbsp;]&nbsp;]'''</span> 17:50, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Also, if you have some success finding GIS data and getting QGIS/Inkscape to work for you, please show us the results. I love it when maps are so good people can't believe they're made from freely available data. &ndash;]] 04:14, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you guys for the support. i'm going to start learning how to deal with QGIS as soon as my left-hand wrist heals up again, i recently fractured it but i'm looking forward to becoming good at this. I'll make sure i show my results :) ] (]) 06:10, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Does anybody have/know of an interstate map for the state of Ohio that I can use? I am trying to promote ] to Featured List status, and it would be nice to have a labeled interstate map to put at the top. Thanks! ] (]) 14:05, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

I created KML data for this draft, Draft:Capitol Highway, in the References section, and converted it to GeoJSON, but upon loading, it just throws an error. How can I fix this? thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 19:33, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Uploading GeoJSON to Misplaced Pages in raw form has been dying a slow death for years now- the preferred method these days is uploading to Commons under a Data:_____.map page and calling it using a ‘from’ parameter in the template BMACS1002 21:41, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
The upside to putting the map data on Commons is that it's reusable on other editions of Misplaced Pages, or even the AARoads Wiki. M-6 (Michigan highway) and M-6 (Michigan) use the same map file on Commons, for instance. Imzadi 1979  21:55, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
