Overlinking

Please be aware of overlinking as an issue. See MOS:SEAOFBLUE. An article like University of East Anglia does not need any wikilinks to England and the United Kingdom. Does it really need three wikinks to the Sainsbury Centre; I can see why it is useful to have one in the caption for a picture of it, and one the first time it is mentioned in the text, but what is the justification for the third wikilink. And why does it have three wikilinks to Norwich, and three to Norwich Research Park. It now has four wikilinks to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

At one time we had the article scrubbed of excessive wikilinks. Maybe the best thing to do would be to revert to that version.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:58, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Apologies, I was not aware of that. I'm not trying to be disruptive, but I was only attempting to expand the page and tidy it up, so to speak. Is it anyway possible to make changes to the page without being reverted? Chirpy-slirpy-BURPY (talk) 08:13, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

In their edit summary, User:Moxy wrote You do best to follow WP:BRD.... don't get blocked before you have a chance to state your case. Misplaced Pages:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle suggests that if you get reverted, you should explain what you are trying to achieve with your edits on the talk page, and listen to what other editors say. Okay, thank you, Todd, I will avoid any potential grammatical errors (due to tiredness) and overlinking. I will do my best to explain myself in each of my edits. • The article talk page is the best place to discuss improvements to the article - this is because other users may also want to contribute or just be informed. (i.e. The talk page discussion means that User X will not revert your edit, because he/she now understands why the edit was the right thing to do.)
• A user's talk page is the best place to discuss the user's behaviour, for example advising them of mistakes they are making.

Page needed tags

Hi Chirpy. Back in July, you made this change to Fascism, removing many "page needed" tags and adding very wide page ranges, presumably whole books. Please don't do this in the future. If you have access to the sources and are able to verify the cited content, please provide the shortest range possible. If not, please leave the tags for someone who can do so. Surf Lifesaving in Australia

Hello there

I have reverted your last edit because it wasn't an accurate summary of the source and didn't improve the article. The article already states that the surf lifesaving movement grew from the early 20th century, and one can assume that this was because more people were swimming in the surf which is inherently dangerous. There is no need to spell this out in another sentence. This is a high level summary article about Australia. The amount of space which we can devote to the history of individual sports and recreations is limited. If you want to add another sentenece it should be something very important which has been missed. If you disagree, please discuss on the Talk page of the article so others can have their say.
