	I've noticed that quite a few times the focus shifts to the mark on Gaara's forehead, but I can't find anything on this page. Can we get anything on the significance of that? ] (])
	*It's the kanji 愛 which reads "ai" and means "affection" or "love". I'm pretty sure it was removed as part of the pruning of overinformation on Naruto, but I think it probably should at least be mentioned as it's a prominent part of his character design. ] (]) 09:38, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Shukaku

"Shukaku" is an allusion to the legend where an old priest named Shukaku who was the custodian of the tea kettle Bunbuku chagama turned out to be an ancient mujina or raccoon dog.

Although it would be nice to add this for the sake of education in Japanology, unfortunately it is hard to find an WP:RS that explains an aspect of manga or anime as being borrowed from Japanese legend or folklore.

I found this paper trying to explain names in Dragonball but it makes mistakes. --Kiyoweap (talk) 11:34, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
