I can't take it anymore. I've been a wikipedian for a while (check my join-date) and I've been watching many articles closely related to Zionism, Judaism, and Palestine to keep creeping bias from setting in.
This article is biased in places because it lacks a factual chronology of events.
From being forced to quote Simon Wiesenthal's biography as a "valid cited source" to having any edit of mine reverted that brings to light, to having to remove most of the weasel words from the "Press TV" article that frame it in the context of "Pro-Palestinian/Pro-Israeli" there is no doubt a heavy favorable bias towards Jews on Misplaced Pages.
For example, it says: | |||
I personally think this is not part of some "Jewish conspiracy" nonsense, but rather the fact that at least 80% of wiki's edits are from white college-educated western males, so they have the biases of that particular social class.
"In February 1947, the British announced that they would end the mandate and withdraw from Palestine and they asked the arbitration of the United Nations. After the vote of the Partition Plan for Palestine on 30 November 1947, civil war broke out in Palestine. Jewish and Arab communities fought each other violently in campaigns of attacks, retaliations and counter-retaliations which provoked around 800 deaths after two months."
Anyway, as soon as I seen the title "Islamic terrorism" for an article, then "Jewish ''religious'' terrorism", I've come under the assumption that this encyclopedia will never fully reflect reality, or at least, accurately and report it in a non-biased fashion.
And: | |||
I'm going to step-up my patrol of "Israel-Palestine/Muslim-Jew" articles to be vigilant against the biases that often get ignored (or in fact, are there on purpose to portray a certain opinion) But if wikipedia becomes any more pro-Israeli or pro-Jewish (rather than non-biased) when it comes to dealing with Muslims or Israel, I may just throw in my towel. ] (]) 04:41, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

"At the beginning of the civil war, the Jewish militias organized several bombing attacks against civilians and military Arab targets. On 12 December, Irgun placed a car bomb opposite the Damascus Gate, killing 20 people."
Problem with POV: | |||
Ashurbanippal, this article has an ancient perspective and does not include up-to-date info such as the opposing reaction to the anniversary of Bombing of King David Hotel. The article only includes negative views of the terrorism, and there is nothing to show that there were and still are, people, leaders, politicians ---like Netanyahu---who still support it. It is un-Wikipedian to take out a whole section added by someone else if it is not vandalism, is current and is referenced. You do not own this page. :No, it's not necessary. This detailed section is for a specific commemoration in 2006 regarding a specific attack. You have it in the article about the bombing. It's POV to put it here per ]. And your distortion of Netanyahu's statement is pathetic. He has never supported terrorism. In any case, he said that the King David Hotel bombing WAS NOT an act of terrorism, but a legitimate attack with a military target, distinguishing it from an act of terror intended to harm civilians. : "''"Imagine that Hamas or Hizbullah would call the military headquarters in Tel Aviv and say, 'We have placed a bomb and we are asking you to evacuate the area.' They don't do that. That is the difference."''" --] (]) 02:13, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
But the source cited after the second passage (note 15 -- Karsh 2002) clearly shows that the Palestinian violence came first and that the Zionist violence was a response. Here is a passage from Karsh 2002:
I think that information certainly should be in the article. The way the Israeli establishment and the Israeli public see those events is a very important part of the topic. When Netanyahu attends an event to commemorate the King David bombings and regards to those actions as heroism, it shows that the modern Israeli establishment does not see those acts as terrorism and embraces them. It is a huge shift from the 1950's and 1960's when the Israeli government made sure to condemn those acts and in fact Mapai used that as a card against the Herut party, regarding them as terrorists.
"Violence came to Palestine within hours of the UN vote on partition. In the early hours of 30 November 1947 as Jewish revellers were making their way home after the previous night's celebrations, an ambulance en route to the Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus came under fire. A few hours later a group of Arabs ambushed a Jewish bus bound from the coastal town of Netanya to Jerusalem, killing five of its passengers and wounding several others. They then attacked another bus travelling from Hadera to Jerusalem, killing two more passengers.
I don't see any reason why those links and information should not be included in the article. ] (]) 02:59, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
"Meanwhile, in Tel-Aviv's Carmel Market, on the fault line between the Jewish city and what was Arab Jaffa, a Jewish person was murdered. In the country's main gaol, in the northern town of Acre, Arab prisoners attacked Jewish inmates, who barricaded themselves in their cells until the British authorities managed to restore calm. In Haifa, shots were fired at Jews passing through Arab neighbourhoods, while Jewish vehicles were stoned throughout the country.
Period to be covered by "Zionist terrorism":
The period covered should not be limited by the formation of Israel. Zionism existed long before the nation of Israel and still does, independently of Israel. Zionists can be Israelis or not. Zionists live all around the world. Israelis can be Zionists or not. Zionists can commit terrorism not sanctioned by Israel or any other government.
"The next day saw no reduction in violence. Shooting, stoning and rioting continued apace. The consulates of Poland and Sweden, both of which had voted for partition, were attacked. Bombs were thrown into cafes, killing and maiming, molotov cocktails were hurled at shops, a synagogue was set on fire. Scores of young Arabs flooded the offices of the local national committees demanding weapons. To inflame the situation further, the AHC proclaimed a three-day nationwide strike to begin the following day. It enforced the closure of all Arab shops, schools and places of business and organised and incited large Arab crowds to take to the streets to attack Jewish targets.
So the period covered should include the time from the creation from the Zionist Movement till whenever it ends. That hasn't happened yet. ] (]) 01:38, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
"The main such attack took place in Jerusalem on Tuesday 2 December, when a crowd of several hundred Arabs ransacked the new Jewish commercial centre, lying opposite the Old City's walls, looting and burning shops and stabbing and stoning whoever they happened upon. A Hagana platoon that was rushed to the area to protect civilians was peremptorily stopped and disarmed by the British police, with 16 of its members arrested for illegal possession of weapons. Some of the confiscated weapons were later found on killed and captured Arab rioters. . . .

"On 4 December, some 120-150 armed Arabs attacked kibbutz Efal, on the outskirts of Tel-Aviv, in the first large-scale attempt to storm a Jewish settlement. Four days later a more audacious assault was launched when hundreds of armed Arabs attacked the Hatikva quarter in south Tel-Aviv. They were followed by scores of women, bags and sacks in hand, eager to ferry off the anticipated spoils. 'The scene was appalling,' recalled one of the Jewish defenders. 'Masses of Arabs were running towards the neighbourhood. Some of them carried torches while others fired on the fly. Behind them we saw flashes of fire from machine guns covering them as they ran amok.' By the time the British troops arrived at the scene, the Arabs had been forced into a hasty retreat, leaving behind some 70 dead." (pp. 28-30)

This article is biased in places because it lacks a factual chronology of events.
For example, it says:
"In February 1947, the British announced that they would end the mandate and withdraw from Palestine and they asked the arbitration of the United Nations. After the vote of the Partition Plan for Palestine on 30 November 1947, civil war broke out in Palestine. Jewish and Arab communities fought each other violently in campaigns of attacks, retaliations and counter-retaliations which provoked around 800 deaths after two months."
And:
"At the beginning of the civil war, the Jewish militias organized several bombing attacks against civilians and military Arab targets. On 12 December, Irgun placed a car bomb opposite the Damascus Gate, killing 20 people."
But the source cited after the second passage (note 15 -- Karsh 2002) clearly shows that the Palestinian violence came first and that the Zionist violence was a response. Here is a passage from Karsh 2002:
"Violence came to Palestine within hours of the UN vote on partition. In the early hours of 30 November 1947 as Jewish revellers were making their way home after the previous night's celebrations, an ambulance en route to the Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus came under fire.
