'''Stemnitsa''' (Greek: Στέμνιτσα) is a village and a municipality located in northwestern ]. It is also the seat of the municipality of the same name. The village is connected by a road connecting ] and ] and ]. Throughout the town, the road is narrow and has only one lane, while its two-laned outside the village. ] is about 20 km S. It is located about 9 km S of Dimitsana, SW of ] and ], W of ], and N of ] and ] and W of ]. Its nearest community are Dimitsana to the north and ] to the SE. It is considered one fo the most beautiful villages in Arcadia. The village name originates from the ] word meaning, a thick forest shaded with trees. In ancient times until the ], the village was known as Hypsous. In the ], it was the most populated village in ]. |
