Although, I think the dispute this way only widened to the new space of Wiki. I don't quite think the opponents are about to agree even on the determination of the nature of this so called dispute.
My information on the use of this mercury compound in zinc-air hearing aid button cells came to me by an electrochemical engineer at RayOVac, and the Chief Engineer at Phonak USA, the largest hearing aid mfr in the world and largest buyer of VARTA hearing aid batteries (private labeled Phonak in many countries), as when the ban went into effect in 5 states, they pushed it on everybody as the EU also banned it. This caused energy storage capacity to drop about 20% at first as the battery mfr's scrambled to find a substitute (to the detriment of hearing aid, CI, and BAHA users worldwide; and VARTA was the first to solve the riddle in late 2017, gaining back what was lost, per the testing performed at Phonak USA and also at their Stäfa HQ. — Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ])

You asked a few questions on the . I'm responding here rather than there because it doesn't really seem appropriate for me to participate directly in the debate any more than I already have. Feel free to repost any of the following or to ignore it completely, as you deem fit.
* " How many episodes of Dennis Miller Live did he write? Was he a significant contributor?"
**I was a staff writer on the show from Jan 2000-August 2003. I was part of a team of 8-10 staff writers (depending on the season), which collectively wrote every one of the 75 episodes during those three years.
*"Is he a Joss Whedon, or anything close?"
**If by "a Joss Whedon," you mean "a guy with the initials JW who has written for TV," then the answer is unquestionable "Yes." For pretty much any other interpretation of "a Joss Whedon," the answer is "Dear God, no." Whedon is a one of the greatest TV writers in the history of the medium, and I have a feeling he is ultimately going to be remembered as a major writer/director. I, on the other hand, am basically just some guy who writes for a living. Whedon is unquestionably notable enough for inclusion; whether I am depends on your definition of "notable," and I'm probably a borderline case either way.

It should be remembered that there is no two-thirds rule and VfD is not a straight vote but a search for consensus. Hi. Haven't been ignoring you, just taking time to review the 'special master' link, etc. After an attack by the dread gatesian blue screen, an error crept into the reconstructed first draft of the ] article last month, so evisceration of that article after many hours of work (preceded by trashing of contributins to the ] article and followed by a series of questionable revisions to vaccine articles) has served as a harsh introduction to Wikipolitics. Nevertheless, your attempts to inject reason and rationality into the articles have rekindled appreciation for the great value of the Wiki. As for the 'special master', after review the concerns appear valid and probably worth inclusion. Yet the apparent arrogance displayed in the documents is reminiscent of the lengthy battle chiropractors fought and won against the AMA, and of the problems that engendered the ] movement, and the avoidance of scientific input described in this months Scientific American editorial.

As for the Wakefield article, after looking into a complaint about the date referenced in the article for the MMR introduction in the UK, more serious concerns came to light from the Melanie Philips article that was being referenced, and the incorrect decade gleaned, had been replaced by the blue screen. About when an earlier MMR was pulled from Canada, 1989, it was nevertheless introduced in the UK left on the market there for three years. The issue as it should have been addressed was the restrictions blocking access to single jabs about a decade later. Will try to help sort it all out; your continued objectivity will be much appreciated. ] 03:07, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi there! Because the RFC about Xiong seemed to deal mainly on his disagreements with Netoholic, I thought it best to start a new RFC to see if people have comments on Xiong's behavior that do not relate to Netoholic. I have started a temp version of the above, as you suggest.
There are already lots of crossreferences and links.
I am combining the non-unique facts from various sources, with a lot of "alledgedly" and "said to have" because early infomation tends to be unreliable.
Please have a look an de-temp it if and when you are happy.

*Excellent idea. By the way do you think you can convince Klonimus that the point to merging is improved accessibility of information, and that there is no 'honor' to be had for a mast to have its own article? It would help if he would refine his viewpoints a bit. I'd talk to him myself but he thinks I am t3h 3vil. ]]] 11:07, Apr 28, 2005 (UTC)
== Please review pH indicators and related compounds ==
Hello, | |||
I just saw something that seems inconsistent with some pH indicators, i.e. ] and ]. In ]s (page in which you have contributed), their behavior is said to be the opposite to what their respective articles state, i.e. from ] "At the acid end of its measuring range, it takes on a yellow color. At the alkaline end, it becomes bluish-violet.". However, ]s states "Color at low pH: Blue, Color at high pH: yellow" (in a tabulated format). Something similar happens with Congo red.
I was planning to rise the issue in the discussion page of pH indicators, but I saw that you have lots of contributions in chemistry, so I better ask directly.--] 22:37, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC) |

Cheer
An amazing diff and the fact that you're still being pointed to should cheer you up.
We still don't have immersion boiler and I need to either put double town/town couple on the list (Special:Whatlinkshere/double town) or get around to submitting it at User talk:Drmies.

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled
A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
How we will see unregistered users
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

New administrator activity requirement
The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.
Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:
- Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
- Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period
Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

Thimerosal
— Preceding unsigned comment added by Discpad (talk • contribs)
Proposed deletion of List of people on the postage stamps of Portugal
The article List of people on the postage stamps of Portugal has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 08:23, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Lisa Shearin moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Lisa Shearin, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 10:14, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:22, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
