| : I did not program the bots, but have been watching and interacting with them for quite a while. I was also given a summary of the then-list of criteria quite a few months back. Basically the bot(s) watch all edits, and parse every one through a set of checks. If the bot matches any of the current criteria, and does not meet any of a number of white-listing criteria, then it is considered a vandalism, and is handled as such. Amoung the white-listing is a list of all admins. The bots are not supposed to revert admins in general. As for the vandalism criteria, I'd rather not say. In general we do not want the information publically out there. But I will give one common example. Page blanking. Blank out a page, and the bot is very likely to flag the edit as vandalism. In general, watch the things that the bot reverts. Each revert triggered at least one vandalism criteria. So look at a revert, at what was done and what was reverted, and think about what it is about that specific edit that the bot could have triggered on. - ] 14:17, 30 October 2006 (UTC) | |||

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
