Camponotus horrens is an ant in the genus Camponotus that is native to Taiwan.
Appearance
This species is distinguished by its red head and lower abdomen connector, and that turns into a black abdomen. the species has thin hairs. the mouth parts- are reddish brown.
Specimens
There are very few samples of this species intact because most of the specimens collected were destroyed during ww II but some more modern specimens have been collected due to taxonomy changes.
There have since been over five live shots confirmed via inaturalist observation.
