Barbie 2 is an upcoming American fantasy comedy film. It will be a sequel to Barbie (2023). It is in early development.

Development
On July 25, 2023, following the premiere of Barbie (2023), director Greta Gerwig stated she had no plans for a sequel. On August 4, 2023, it was reported that Gerwig, co-writer Noah Baumbach and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling had been contracted for only one film. On December 13, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter reported that a sequel film to Barbie had entered early development from Warner Bros. and Mattel, with Gerwig and Baumbach set to return. Representatives for Warner Bros., Gerwig, and Baumbach denied the claim.
