This article inappropriately conflates xenophobia and racism throughout. The two are similar, but differ in important ways that have been missed or ignored. The second paragraph of the article explains it well: ''"According to UNESCO, the terms xenophobia and racism often overlap, but differ in how the latter encompasses prejudice based on physical characteristics while the former is generally centered on behavior based on the notion of a specified people being adverse to the culture or nation."'' |

:I removed about India which was all about hatred towards Muslims (better covered on ]) and also removed Zimbabwe which was only about hatred towards White people who are residing for decades in Zimbabwe. Despite both be a way of prejuce or distilled hate, There is a difference, R4c1sm is a prejudice against races (ethnic or cultural), btw "R4cism" term comes out from "Races", while xenophobia is prejudice against nationality which's partially different of race, e.g, you can find both a black Brazilian and a black American, but they, in nationality wise are not equal. ] (]) 23:11, 14 July 2024 (UTC) |

I suspect it is partly due the fear of contagion or invasion from migrants, etc: if as a member of a community you were not xenophobic enough, you died. See Health in Migration, Epidemics and such. ] (]) 13:19, 28 January 2020 (UTC) |
