Most, if not all, of the sources on Xi's early biography (particularly his early career) are from Chinese media. It is no secret that such sources are questionable, especially regarding the many "projects" listed in career section, and normative statements such as " organization efficiency."

Why was the information in the infobox on Xi Jinping's military service in the People's Liberation Army omitted? The article itself mentions that Xi spent a few years serving in the PLA with this citation<ref name="newyorker2">{{cite news |last1=Osnos |first1=Evan |author-link=Evan Osnos |date=30 March 2015 |title=Born Red |magazine=] |url=http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/04/06/born-red |url-status=live |access-date=11 September 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191004153259/https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/04/06/born-red |archive-date=4 October 2019}}</ref>, and several articles about politicians contain information on their military service (such as ]). 500 edits ago this information was included in the infobox, . So why was this omitted?
I propose that this information be re-added to the infobox as shown:

We should correct his birthplace here in Misplaced Pages. ] (]) 22:32, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
:::::So I did look into this to make sure. It seems like a pretty basic mistake is being made by these sources: it's universally reported that Xi's home province is Shaanxi, that his father was born in Funing, and sometimes simply that he himself is "from" Funing. These are all true. However, it's pretty clear that official sources note he was <em>born</em> in Beijing when that word is used, which seems perfectly reasonable.
