Most Wiki articles about world leaders include a reported salary but Xi's does not. Can an editor add this? His annual salary is reportedly ¥136,620 or around US$19,200 https://politicalsalaries.com/is-it-true-xi-jinping-only-earns-us19000/ While this is not a verified salary, it is the best estimate we have (and many other world leaders' salaries are also estimates not exact) ] (]) 01:39, 21 November 2024 (UTC) |

Xi Jinping was born in Beijing or in Shaanxi Province? I found different places from online sources. ] (]) 17:46, 1 June 2024 (UTC) |

::::@] In the first volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" written by Xi Jinping (it can be consulted here https://archive.org/details/xijinpingthegovernanceofchinavolume1/page/n310/mode/1up?q=Shaanxi+) there is written "Shaanxi, my home province". We should correct his birthplace here in Misplaced Pages. ] (]) 22:32, 1 June 2024 (UTC) |

:::::So I did look into this to make sure. It seems like a pretty basic mistake is being made by these sources: it's universally reported that Xi's home province is Shaanxi, that his father was born in Funing, and sometimes simply that he himself is "from" Funing. These are all true. However, it's pretty clear that official sources note he was <em>born</em> in Beijing when that word is used, which seems perfectly reasonable. If I'm born somewhere but grow up somewhere else, the latter is clearly my hometown/homeland/etc. ]] 23:12, 1 June 2024 (UTC) |

:::::::::::Upon checking some more sources, it seems I was right before: the sources that are listing Funing just misunderstood the Chinese sources saying his hometown is Funing. Every official source I've seen that specifies says that he was born in Beijing. :::::::::::::Not quite. {{lang|zh|1953年6月生,陝西富平人}} means {{xt|Born in June 1953, a native of Funing, Shaanxi.}} This is the phraseology that's being misunderstood. The placement of the comma may be rather helpful here. ]] 13:44, 2 June 2024 (UTC) |

Most, if not all, of the sources on Xi's early biography (particularly his early career) are from Chinese media. It is no secret that such sources are questionable, especially regarding the many "projects" listed in career section, and normative statements such as " organization efficiency." |
