When I submitted my draft for the book World on the Brink, I was assured that if it was not up to standards, I would receive constructive criticism on how to improve it. Instead, you deleted it, saying it is "just a book review." You may also recall that I originally posted a longer draft article, which you deleted because you thought I have a conflict of interest (I don't). I submitted the shorter version in order to remove anything even approaching an opinion about the book.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

I see you first imported my script in ], then reverted and copied the whole script. Was there a problem? The import code should work but you may have to reload a user page with {{keypress|Ctrl|F5}} in Windows browsers (not {{keypress|F5}} alone). I know you were the last one to delete my article so I'm replying to you directly but hope Jéské Couriano reviews my re-submission . It was after multiple attempts with different editors, that Jéské Couriano told me the following "@Guy Zapoleon: You need to actually cite your sources, sticking to what those published sources explicitly say. The problem isn't a lack of sources, the problem is you aren't citing them and are expecting us (and by extension the readers) to accept what the article says on faith. We do not operate that way. —Jéské Couriano" I've hopefully done so in my latest submission which I'll be posting shortly I'm working hard to make my submission acceptable to Misplaced Pages and your rules.

And no, everything I have submitted was written by me originally, over time, beginning my 1992 article in Radio & Records. It is not promotional outside of taking credit for something that I've written about and its a 32 year accepted theory in the music and radio industry and published inside the industry and summitting it for public consumption.As far as respected, its been quoted all over the world I gave a few sources in my submission...in Australia and Germany. It says it was deleted as it was similar to the last deleted page, but I've made the revision to the 'advertising' language. Hate to be like this but the deletion of my draft for ] makes no sense. It was not "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" - I have no connection to the band and there was no promotional text on the page, or much prose at all beyond the lead sentence - nor was it "Misuse of Misplaced Pages as a web host" - it was a userspace draft, something I and countless Wikipedians have made many times to draft articles, and it wasn't even up for two hours before getting deleted. It was an article in development, and I can't think of anything about the formatting or sourcing that would've warranted this. I also was given no notice on my user talk page, something I'm given to understand is required for deletions like this. I genuinely don't understand this, as none of my other userspace drafts have been spontaneously deleted like this (even ones that probably had cause to be), and I would like either a better explanation or, if warranted, an undeletion. ] (]) 17:31, 25 August 2024 (UTC)

COI workaround?

Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

You have an obvious conflict of interest, please read independent verifiable sources (sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them), the notability guidelines, promotion (articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews) and paid editing. Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Mr. Lindholm. Mr. Lindholm is a friend and I will disclose that COI moving forwards. Before I request recovery for the draft, I have some questions.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for U5: Misuse of Misplaced Pages as a web host? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. I included numerous citations and kept the tone of the article objective to avoid bias. Would you be able to let me know which sections were not objective and require updates or edits?

Don't get me wrong. I don't want to create promotional content for the organisation, I just want to write some existing facts about the firm so that audience can have more visibility about the company when they search it. The company is a Chinese firm and has listed on NYSE since 2023. Currently most of third-parties (like news) are from local and not in english language, I wonder if that's acceptable if I use them in citation? And is there a minumum number of reference needed?
Besides reference issue, regarding the latest edits, are any other parts that I need to adjust my wording?
