Hi Jim,
{| width="100%"

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

Jim,

== NOTHERE user ==
As you have correctly pointed out the page is a University club, its notability comes in the form that it dates back to nearly a century and that there are over one-hundred members of the club. It plays an important role in the formation of the University of Birmingham which, obviously, had dramatic historical implications for the city of Birmingham as a whole. I find it somewhat pedantic of you to neglect this as notable, the Society itself IS historical and other if universities, whose clubs date to a similar time, are allowed to have Misplaced Pages pages then I simply don't understand why ours is discriminated against. I do, of course, have a claim to interest; being the alumnus of said University and Society.

This user edited the article about himself and added a family ] - . ] (]) 18:42, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
There is plenty of scholarly work written on the society, not least in Ives, E. The First Civic University: Birmingham, 1880-1980 - An Introductory History (Birmingham: University of Birmingham Press) and several articles written by Birmingham historian Carl Chinn, which I urge you to consult before you dismiss such a page on, what seems to be, a claim which is unfounded and belied by your lack of knowledge of the subject. Of course this is esoteric knowledge but enough people belong to the society for it to be considered 'notable' and this is a point which is concurred by the fact that there are several, similar sized, institutions, societies and clubs listed on Misplaced Pages.

:], thanks. I notice that the user concerned has not been warned or even welcomed, so I'm reluctant to block at this stage. I'll welcome and warn, then there are no excuses if he continues ] - ] 08:25, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
I urge you to either reconsider your decision, apply the same punitive measures to other, similar, university societies or to enlighten yourself as to the importance of the society through the consulting of said titles.

::], I've nominated the image for deletion at Commons ] - ] 08:29, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
I am new to the Misplaced Pages editing community and, so far, I have found it a most excruciatingly aloof affair. I did not expect the editorial and administrative community to be this abrupt. The lack of help in an accessible medium, I fear, also precludes the vast majority of people from submitting their own, important, contributions; thus ameliorating the actual mission of the website and inhibiting the free and undeterred access to and propagation of knowledge.

== Request for Review of Deletion of "Derek Warburton" Misplaced Pages Page ==
] (]) 13:28, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Dear Jimfbleak,
== Edit to ] ==

I hope you're doing well. I noticed that the Misplaced Pages page for Derek Warburton was recently deleted under the reason "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion."
Hi, I have ] on my watchlist and noticed you an edit made by an IP this afternoon. I had checked the edit earlier and it looked to me like a good-faith attempt to source an unreferenced passage. On closer inspection I see that it was incorrectly formatted but in my opinion an improvement, since the original didn't cite anything. I thought I'd check with you before I add it back in and clean up the formatting, to make sure you didn't have another reason for reverting. Thanks! ~ ] ] 23:15, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
I believe the deletion may have been made in error, as I have reviewed the content of the article and would like to provide clarification regarding its notability. Derek Warburton has been covered extensively in independent, reliable sources such as:
:These numbers are being slowly modified and has been recognized as a form of surreptitious vandalism - see ], ] etc. for recent discussions. These are best reverted as discussed in the past on sight as they are all deliberate mis-citations. ] (]) 04:33, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
::Exactly, a previous incarnation added plausible but unsourced items to the prey list of dozens of birds. It's a subtle but persistent form of vandalism. Furthermore, we understand the importance of adhering to Misplaced Pages's guidelines for neutrality and verifiability, and we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards.
So I don't go on very often, which is why it took me almost a year to respond, but I simply don't understand. Major artist (] - if you listen to house music even casually, chances are you've heard of him) releases his only LP thus far (a Big deal for any artist) on one of the most famous (and exclusive) record labels in all of electronica (mau5trap records). Any release on mau5trap should have a wiki entry as it is, let alone the only LP of a '''major artist'''.

I would be grateful if you could review the article again, considering these improvements and the sources supporting his notability. If the article can be restored, I will continue to monitor and improve it to meet Misplaced Pages's guidelines.
I don't even think the album's that great, but it's a big deal. And having to go to discogs.com to look at the album's tracklist is annoying considering the best source of information the world will ever know should have that information as well.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
:To Expand: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/41008/Feed-Me-Feed-Mes-Big-Adventure/ is a review of the album from a major music website. http://www.ministryofsound.com/lifestyle/blog/761/interview-feed-me/ is an interview with Feed Me by Ministry of Sound during which he says "You've already achieved so much in your music career - what goals do you still have left that you want to achieve? Complete an album". This was that album. Directing me to general notability websites and saying that creating a wiki would serve to promote (http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:NOTADVERTISING#ADVERTISING - which of these points applies?) doesn't help my confusion as to why an indisputably major artist releasing his first lp doesn't qualify as notable. I don't even like Feed Me that much, I'm still just upset that his lp doesn't have a wiki . ] (]) 07:08, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

:: Haha -- wikipedia personalities are incorrigible. It's so hard to make yourself heard as an outsider, and while it's possible (somehow, even though I still don't see it at all) that this doesn't meet the notability requirements, having that album as an entry with a tracklisting is definitely not advertising ... at all. If it had had a pitchfork or RA review in addition to the sputnikmusic one would that have been enough? ] (]) 12:11, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
::@]Thank you for your response, and I appreciate your dedication to maintaining Misplaced Pages’s high standards.
::I’d like to clarify a few points regarding my involvement:
::My Role: I am not the creator or editor of the deleted article. I represent Derek Warburton in a professional capacity and was made aware of the deletion by others. My intention in reaching out is to understand the concerns that led to the deletion and explore how the content might be improved or reinstated in line with Misplaced Pages’s guidelines.
::Conflict of Interest: I fully acknowledge and respect Misplaced Pages’s Conflict of Interest (COI) policy. As Derek Warburton’s representative, my intention is not to edit or recreate the article myself but to ensure that accurate, verifiable, and neutral information is available to support its potential inclusion.
::Sources and Compliance: I understand the need for independent, reliable third-party sources and neutrality. Derek Warburton has been covered by publications such as Forbes, Elle Canada, and Flaunt Magazine, which I believe meet these standards. If necessary, we are happy to provide a full list of these sources for your review.
::'''My main objective is to ensure that any future article on Derek Warburton is fully compliant with Misplaced Pages’s policies. Could you advise on the best way to move forward? '''
::I understand the importance of relying on independent, reliable third-party sources. Going forward, I will ensure that the team references only notable publications excluding interviews, press releases, or any sources affiliated with Derek Warburton or his organizations.
::The primary goal is to ensure that any future article fully meets Misplaced Pages’s standards for neutrality and verifiability. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to proceed constructively. Would preparing a draft and submitting it through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process for community review be the appropriate next step? If there are other considerations or steps we should follow, I am happy to relay this to the team and ensure they are addressed.
::I sincerely apologize if my initial outreach caused any misunderstanding about my intentions. I fully respect Misplaced Pages’s guidelines and your authority in this matter. My goal is to address the issue constructively and ensure compliance moving forward.
::Thank you again for your time and insights. I look forward to your advice on how best to resolve this matter.

Hello Jim. Yesterday and today, you deleted this article as {{tl|db-g11}} without a single word of explanation to the creator. It ''was not'' nominated for deletion. Does that mean that you delete articles arbitrarily? I don't think it was ''blatant'' promotion, but it is of course a matter of opinion. == ]: ] ==

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for ]'':'' ]? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. Hi Jimfbleak,

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Guanghua Li.

Guanghua Li is a photographer, I like her children's pictures and that's the reason I create this page.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted? The purpose of this entry is to introduce her briefly. There are many reports about her in Chinese. I already remove some personal description words and write it neutrally.

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Guanghua Li is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

You deleted my page as a "blatant hoax" which is absolutely incorrect and false. I had just written all of that and I did not have a chance to even copy the content, so that was inconsiderate to say the least. I would like to see your proof and validation of "blatant hoax" because my submission was in no way shape or form a "blatant hoax." Truthiracy is a word made from two other words which are 'truth' and 'conspiracy.' You could have helped me edit it or something, but to just delete it without cause was just down right rude.

COI workaround?

Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

Request for Review of Deletion of "Derek Warburton" Misplaced Pages Page

Dear Jimfbleak,

I hope you're doing well. I noticed that the Misplaced Pages page for Derek Warburton was recently deleted under the reason "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion." I believe the deletion may have been made in error, as I have reviewed the content of the article and would like to provide clarification regarding its notability. Derek Warburton has been covered extensively in independent, reliable sources such as:

 • Forbes: An interview discussing branding in the media and entertainment sectors. (Forbes)
 • Elle Canada: Featured for promoting international emerging designers. (Elle Canada)
 • Flaunt Magazine: Covered for launching a makeup line in collaboration with FACE Stockholm. (Flaunt)
 • Glamour Magazine: Featured for his philanthropic work encouraging self-love. (Derek Warburton Press)
 • Mr. Warburton Magazine: As the founder and editor-in-chief, showcasing art, fashion, and celebrity. (Mr. Warburton Magazine)

Furthermore, we understand the importance of adhering to Misplaced Pages's guidelines for neutrality and verifiability, and we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards.

I would be grateful if you could review the article again, considering these improvements and the sources supporting his notability. If the article can be restored, I will continue to monitor and improve it to meet Misplaced Pages's guidelines. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards, Jenn Salmorin Jenn Salmorin (talk) 04:24, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Jenn Salmorin, you claim to know the content of a deleted article that you cannot see, and you say we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards. You have an obvious conflict of interest, please read independent verifiable sources (sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them), the notability guidelines, promotion (articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews) and paid editing. I note that your supposed refs include an interview with him and his own magazine, how are these independent third-party sources as we require here? If any new version appears that is non-compliant with our rules, I'll delete it and consider blocking the creator. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:26, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
@JimfbleakThank you for your response, and I appreciate your dedication to maintaining Misplaced Pages’s high standards.
I’d like to clarify a few points regarding my involvement:
My Role: I am not the creator or editor of the deleted article. I represent Derek Warburton in a professional capacity and was made aware of the deletion by others. My intention in reaching out is to understand the concerns that led to the deletion and explore how the content might be improved or reinstated in line with Misplaced Pages’s guidelines.
Conflict of Interest: I fully acknowledge and respect Misplaced Pages’s Conflict of Interest (COI) policy. As Derek Warburton’s representative, my intention is not to edit or recreate the article myself but to ensure that accurate, verifiable, and neutral information is available to support its potential inclusion.
Sources and Compliance: I understand the need for independent, reliable third-party sources and neutrality. Derek Warburton has been covered by publications such as Forbes, Elle Canada, and Flaunt Magazine, which I believe meet these standards. If necessary, we are happy to provide a full list of these sources for your review.
My main objective is to ensure that any future article on Derek Warburton is fully compliant with Misplaced Pages’s policies. Could you advise on the best way to move forward?
I understand the importance of relying on independent, reliable third-party sources. Going forward, I will ensure that the team references only notable publications excluding interviews, press releases, or any sources affiliated with Derek Warburton or his organizations.
The primary goal is to ensure that any future article fully meets Misplaced Pages’s standards for neutrality and verifiability. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to proceed constructively. Would preparing a draft and submitting it through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process for community review be the appropriate next step? If there are other considerations or steps we should follow, I am happy to relay this to the team and ensure they are addressed.
I sincerely apologize if my initial outreach caused any misunderstanding about my intentions. I fully respect Misplaced Pages’s guidelines and your authority in this matter. My goal is to address the issue constructively and ensure compliance moving forward.
Thank you again for your time and insights. I look forward to your advice on how best to resolve this matter.
Best regards, Jenn Salmorin (talk) 07:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Request for Review of Deletion of Lindholm Misplaced Pages Page

Hi Jimfbleak,

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Mr. Lindholm. Mr. Lindholm is a friend and I will disclose that COI moving forwards. Before I request recovery for the draft, I have some questions.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for U5: Misuse of Misplaced Pages as a web host? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. I included numerous citations and kept the tone of the article objective to avoid bias. Would you be able to let me know which sections were not objective and require updates or edits?

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Mr. Lindholm is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

Thanks! Bage4416 (talk) 16:36, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Request for Review of Deletion of Guanghua Li Misplaced Pages Page

Hi Jimfbleak,

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Guanghua Li.

Guanghua Li is a photographer, I like her children's pictures and that's the reason I create this page.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted? The purpose of this entry is to introduce her briefly. There are many reports about her in Chinese. I already remove some personal description words and write it neutrally.

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Guanghua Li is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

Thanks. 数峰青 (talk) 15:08, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Follow up on ZKH Industrial Supply page

Hi Jimfbleak,
Thanks and well received the latest feedback. I will adjust the content accordingly.
Don't get me wrong. I don't want to create promotional content for the organisation, I just want to write some existing facts about the firm so that audience can have more visibility about the company when they search it. The company is a Chinese firm and has listed on NYSE since 2023. Currently most of third-parties (like news) are from local and not in english language, I wonder if that's acceptable if I use them in citation? And is there a minumum number of reference needed?
Besides reference issue, regarding the latest edits, are any other parts that I need to adjust my wording?
Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.
