Hi Jim,
I have made some changes with your explanations, http://en.wikipedia.org/User:Abbie_Guilding/sandbox. I hope you can put the page back online. I will slowly add more info about Thomas but need to know if this is ok now, thank you, best wishes, Abbie

== Sandbox the Wordbee entry == == COI workaround? ==

Hi Jim, Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.
It was done in a single edit... on Misplaced Pages. I did quite a few edits outside of Misplaced Pages...

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.
While I disagree about the article sounding promotional, I can rectify the other issues. There are some other links around the web that I didn't find before, like this one: <ref>http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/translator/for-translators.aspx</ref>, that prove notability (all the other tech providers on that list probably have pages!) They also won a CeBIT award <ref>http://en.wikipedia.org/Cebit</ref>. But so, can you stick it in a sandbox or something so I can work on it? And then can you pass/fail for me or something?

Hi Jimfbleak. Would you mind being kind enough to explain your CSD deletion of ] please? It'd already been declined for CSD A7, as A7 does not apply to and cannot be used for, books. ==Starling==
I found some cut and paste copyright violations which I removed from the Introduced populations, North America section. The starling has been tremendously successful over there and the whole section is very negative. I haven't looked at all the sources but the section does not mention the good done by the birds as insectivores eating agricultural pests. I feel like leaping to their defence, as I bet they replace a lot of pesticides which would need to be used to eradicate the vast millions of leather jackets, beetle grubs, fly larvae, ants etc. that they consume. ] (]) 15:37, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

== Request for Review of Deletion of "Derek Warburton" Misplaced Pages Page ==
== Deletion ==

Dear Jimfbleak,
Hi. I am slightly confused about deletion. Could you clarify how it qualifies for ], given that the user who tagged it is not the one who started the page? Nor do they appear to be alternate accounts: their user pages even state that they live in different countries. ''']''' '''] / ]''' 20:27, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

I hope you're doing well. I noticed that the Misplaced Pages page for Derek Warburton was recently deleted under the reason "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion."
==Reply==
I believe the deletion may have been made in error, as I have reviewed the content of the article and would like to provide clarification regarding its notability. Derek Warburton has been covered extensively in independent, reliable sources such as:

* '''Forbes''': An interview discussing branding in the media and entertainment sectors. ()
I have replied to you on ]. ] (]) 02:06, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
* '''Elle Canada''': Featured for promoting international emerging designers. ()
* '''Flaunt Magazine''': Covered for launching a makeup line in collaboration with FACE Stockholm. ()
* '''Glamour Magazine''': Featured for his philanthropic work encouraging self-love. ()
* '''Mr. Warburton Magazine''': As the founder and editor-in-chief, showcasing art, fashion, and celebrity. ()

Furthermore, we understand the importance of adhering to Misplaced Pages's guidelines for neutrality and verifiability, and we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards.
=== Deletion ===

I would be grateful if you could review the article again, considering these improvements and the sources supporting his notability. If the article can be restored, I will continue to monitor and improve it to meet Misplaced Pages's guidelines.

Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. Jim: I see that you deleted the article I was drafting on the National Collaborative for Women's History Sites--I rec'd an earlier message that there was some issue re: copyrighted material, but when I went to work on this today, the draft is gone, so I can't even look into what the issue might be. Is there a time limit to how quickly a person must act on these messages, and then the page is deleted? It being the holidays, I really haven't had a chance to look at this again until today, but now it seems to be gone? ] (]) 15:32, 1 January 2013 (UTC)mrmedit

I rec'd your reply -- and think instead of starting "from scratch" as you have propose (well, required, I think? The draft is gone, yes?), I may have concluded that Misplaced Pages is just not for me. I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm annoyed, but I definitely am frustrated. This process is just too abrupt and unhelpful. With the draft deleted I can't learn at all from your comments. I don't know what you mean by copyrighted material because I can no longer see the prose I'd drafted (is it a quoted mission statement? something else? I have no idea). Since I can no longer see the prose or references, I also can't learn from or see how to address your comment about moving them "inline." And I'm especially puzzled by your assessment that the article was too promotional--to draft it I used as models entries for other humanities non-profits, and this very-short entry is identical to them in content and format, with the presentation of the mission up-top followed by a brief history. But without references to specific passages, and the article now deleted, I can't see or guess what distinction you are drawing there, either, between this article and others of a similar nature. I don't see a point in starting over if draft articles can be deleted without warning--I guess I should have done the drafting on my hard-drive (my fault--I thought that this process allowed authors to keep text as they are worked on and improved). I started this entry because I thought I'd like to learn this process and in time contribute more, but this deletion is a real setback (there's little point in starting afresh if I don't completely understand your comments and it could just suddenly happen again), and I'm not sure I'll continue. It's fine. It was a fairly brief experiment and I did learn from it. Maybe I'll come back in the future when I have more time. <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 17:33, 1 January 2013 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Ok, thanks for your reply to the above--I appreciate it--will look later today. ] (]) 15:04, 2 January 2013 (UTC)mrmedit

OK, Jim--would you mind taking another look? I went back and checked to see that the content and tone matched other comparable entries (for the Canadian Historical Association, the National Council on Public History, Society for the History of Technology, etc) and I think it does (though I welcome any suggestions for edits on this front). On the references, I added "inline" notes to support the founding date, and a citation for the mission statement quotation. I don't find any copyrighted material here aside from the now-footnoted mission statement (I searched each sentence/long phrase on google). I hope I'm not exhausting your patience, but does this look better? <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 19:15, 2 January 2013 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I'm sorry -- I didn't understand where I was supposed to move it to; thought I was supposed to resubmit (see, I really am a newbie). You're saying at this point I can just post it? Which selection is correct from that drop-down menu, and can I still do that somehow now? <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 20:25, 4 January 2013 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi again--
OK, I hope this is it, if you don't spot anything else obvious. I have added three cites to support the refs to the OAH, NPS and NWHP, and rearranged the prose to improve the flow and ensure that the refs work harder to support statements made. I also added another title to the "Further Reading" list. On the membership # and financial info, I again reviewed entries for a number of comparable organizations (the Society for the History of Technology; Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations; Society of Architectural Historians; Vernacular Architecture Forum; The Association for the Study of African American Life and History; Southern Historical Association, National Council on Public History, and the North American Society for Oceanic History) and don't find that it's at all typical to include this kind of information -- the only one I found that included specific financial data was The American Association for State and Local History, and those #s are from 2009. I wouldn’t think Misplaced Pages would want this kind of quickly-dated, ephemeral content in an entry, and also keeping it updated accurately would mean that the organization’s treasurer would have to do the updating (wouldn't it?), which I wouldn’t think squares with policy. I can contact the organization to request their 2011 info and add it in, but this seems at odds with instructions I've read elsewhere (how, for instance, would such figures be documented with a citation?).

Honestly, this looks to me very, very similar to other entries of comparable nonprofits (I know that having flawed entries elsewhere online doesn't justify adding new flawed entries, but at the same time, there has to a standard that is at least somewhat similar across submissions) -- and in many cases, at least in terms of the ones I checked, much better in terms of the # of cites and references. I don't want to upload until you believe I have met Misplaced Pages's standards; let me know if it's time, and again, many thanks for the patience and guidance. <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 18:33, 3 January 2013 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi Jim,

I had created a page for an upcoming bollyowod movie called 'Main Rony Aur Jony'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/Main_Rony_Aur_Jony

You have deleted it for the following reason:
(A7: No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content): not even released yet, no refs)

Hi Jimfbleak,
As I had mentioned in the article, it is a bollywood movie - one of the world's largest and prominent movie industry.
It will be launching this month. It doesn't make sense deleting the page just because the movie hasn't yet been released.
Here is a link to the Misplaced Pages entry for Iron Man 3 movie, which will be released on April, 2013.
http://en.wikipedia.org/Iron_Man_3

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Guanghua Li.
I had posted reference links to the movie's official website and facebook page and also to certain prominent trade websites which cover bollywood movies.

Guanghua Li is a photographer, I like her children's pictures and that's the reason I create this page.
I request you to revoke the page deletion.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted? The purpose of this entry is to introduce her briefly. There are many reports about her in Chinese. I already remove some personal description words and write it neutrally.

COI workaround?

Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

Thanks.

Request for Review of Deletion of "Derek Warburton" Misplaced Pages Page

Dear Jimfbleak,

I hope you're doing well. I noticed that the Misplaced Pages page for Derek Warburton was recently deleted under the reason "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion." I believe the deletion may have been made in error, as I have reviewed the content of the article and would like to provide clarification regarding its notability. Derek Warburton has been covered extensively in independent, reliable sources such as:

  • Forbes: An interview discussing branding in the media and entertainment sectors. (Forbes)
  • Elle Canada: Featured for promoting international emerging designers. (Elle Canada)
  • Flaunt Magazine: Covered for launching a makeup line in collaboration with FACE Stockholm. (Flaunt)
  • Glamour Magazine: Featured for his philanthropic work encouraging self-love. (Derek Warburton Press)
  • Mr. Warburton Magazine: As the founder and editor-in-chief, showcasing art, fashion, and celebrity. (Mr. Warburton Magazine)

Furthermore, we understand the importance of adhering to Misplaced Pages's guidelines for neutrality and verifiability, and we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards.

I would be grateful if you could review the article again, considering these improvements and the sources supporting his notability. If the article can be restored, I will continue to monitor and improve it to meet Misplaced Pages's guidelines. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards, Jenn Salmorin Jenn Salmorin (talk) 04:24, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Jenn Salmorin, you claim to know the content of a deleted article that you cannot see, and you say we are currently in the process of editing the article to ensure it aligns with these standards. You have an obvious conflict of interest, please read independent verifiable sources (sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them), the notability guidelines, promotion (articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews) and paid editing. I note that your supposed refs include an interview with him and his own magazine, how are these independent third-party sources as we require here? If any new version appears that is non-compliant with our rules, I'll delete it and consider blocking the creator. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:26, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
@JimfbleakThank you for your response, and I appreciate your dedication to maintaining Misplaced Pages’s high standards.
I’d like to clarify a few points regarding my involvement:
My Role: I am not the creator or editor of the deleted article. I represent Derek Warburton in a professional capacity and was made aware of the deletion by others. My intention in reaching out is to understand the concerns that led to the deletion and explore how the content might be improved or reinstated in line with Misplaced Pages’s guidelines.
Conflict of Interest: I fully acknowledge and respect Misplaced Pages’s Conflict of Interest (COI) policy. As Derek Warburton’s representative, my intention is not to edit or recreate the article myself but to ensure that accurate, verifiable, and neutral information is available to support its potential inclusion.
Sources and Compliance: I understand the need for independent, reliable third-party sources and neutrality. Derek Warburton has been covered by publications such as Forbes, Elle Canada, and Flaunt Magazine, which I believe meet these standards. If necessary, we are happy to provide a full list of these sources for your review.
My main objective is to ensure that any future article on Derek Warburton is fully compliant with Misplaced Pages’s policies. Could you advise on the best way to move forward?
I understand the importance of relying on independent, reliable third-party sources. Going forward, I will ensure that the team references only notable publications excluding interviews, press releases, or any sources affiliated with Derek Warburton or his organizations.
The primary goal is to ensure that any future article fully meets Misplaced Pages’s standards for neutrality and verifiability. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to proceed constructively. Would preparing a draft and submitting it through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process for community review be the appropriate next step? If there are other considerations or steps we should follow, I am happy to relay this to the team and ensure they are addressed.
I sincerely apologize if my initial outreach caused any misunderstanding about my intentions. I fully respect Misplaced Pages’s guidelines and your authority in this matter. My goal is to address the issue constructively and ensure compliance moving forward.
Thank you again for your time and insights. I look forward to your advice on how best to resolve this matter.
Best regards, Jenn Salmorin (talk) 07:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Request for Review of Deletion of Lindholm Misplaced Pages Page

Hi Jimfbleak,

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Mr. Lindholm. Mr. Lindholm is a friend and I will disclose that COI moving forwards. Before I request recovery for the draft, I have some questions.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for U5: Misuse of Misplaced Pages as a web host? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. I included numerous citations and kept the tone of the article objective to avoid bias. Would you be able to let me know which sections were not objective and require updates or edits?

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Mr. Lindholm is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

Thanks! Bage4416 (talk) 16:36, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Request for Review of Deletion of Guanghua Li Misplaced Pages Page

Hi Jimfbleak,

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Guanghua Li.

Guanghua Li is a photographer, I like her children's pictures and that's the reason I create this page.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted? The purpose of this entry is to introduce her briefly. There are many reports about her in Chinese. I already remove some personal description words and write it neutrally.

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Guanghua Li is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

Thanks. 数峰青 (talk) 15:08, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Follow up on ZKH Industrial Supply page

Hi Jimfbleak,
Thanks and well received the latest feedback. I will adjust the content accordingly.
Don't get me wrong. I don't want to create promotional content for the organisation, I just want to write some existing facts about the firm so that audience can have more visibility about the company when they search it. The company is a Chinese firm and has listed on NYSE since 2023. Currently most of third-parties (like news) are from local and not in english language, I wonder if that's acceptable if I use them in citation? And is there a minumum number of reference needed?
Besides reference issue, regarding the latest edits, are any other parts that I need to adjust my wording?
Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.
