As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.
Can you explain what happened to the NuPRL page? I was looking for information on the subject but it seems like you deleted the page today.

I accepted an article ] through AfC and my judgement may have been at fault in this instance. I am relatively inexperienced in working in AfC so I use the flowchart on to help me decide whether an article should be created. In this instance I decided the subject was notable and treated in an encyclopedic manner, was sufficiently neutral and well-enough sourced. Perhaps I was wrong. I did not consider the article wholly promotional and I did not and do not think it qualifies under "G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion" for speedy deletion. However, when I saw that it had been tagged and was likely to be deleted, I felt an obligation to the creator to improve it and started working on it in my sandbox this morning. This was a good thing, because the article was deleted by you, some 10 hours after its creation, and by the time I came to replace the original version with my new version, it was gone. Perhaps you could look at and see if you think it is acceptable, as my judgement in this matter is obviously flawed! ] (]) 09:00, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

We are very surprised by the deletion of the ‘Rocket Internet’ Misplaced Pages article that you initiated. I am aware of the fact that any advertising or promotion does not belong on Misplaced Pages. Therefore, and in order to make sure that we can provide useful information on the basis of facts, we as a company decided to create an account highlighting our changes to the article on ‘Rocket Internet’ transparently. As you can see from the article’s view history, our previous changes included necessary updates for which we provided reliable sources. We do not understand the abrupt deletion of the article without any prior feedback and think that this is a shame given the broad discussion channels that Misplaced Pages provides. We started to modify certain paragraphs only some weeks ago and tried to keep as much of the original content created by the Misplaced Pages community as possible.

Deletionists on Misplaced Pages often rely on the argument that a contribution comes from an “unreliable source,” with the editor deciding what is reliable. An incident last year showed the degree to which editors at the very top of Misplaced Pages were willing to rely on this crutch when it suits their purpose.


Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for ]'':'' ]? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. I included numerous citations and kept the tone of the article objective to avoid bias. Would you be able to let me know which sections were not objective and require updates or edits?
When the Taliban kidnapped New York Times reporter David Rohde in Afghanistan, the paper convinced 40 media organizations plus Misplaced Pages not to report on it out of concerns that it would compromise Rohde's safety. Misplaced Pages co-founder Jimmy Wales told the Times, once Rohde was free, that “We were really helped by the fact that it (postings on Rohde) hadn’t appeared in a place we would regard as a reliable source.” Thus, Wales and other senior Misplaced Pages editors showed they were willing to rely on the “unreliable source” canard to delete information they had been told by a very reliable source was true, even when a more noble reason—Rohde’s safety—would have justified it.

Reading that particular section it says" If a subject is notable and the content can be replaced with text that complies with neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion." I do believe my work in the immigration and multicultural space does warrant a Wiki page. I would be happy to comply with any specific aspects that do not meet the Misplaced Pages standards. I really don't understand wy my page about Jean Fourton was deleted, I spent hours completing the article with references and I contested the speedy deletion nomination with a message (which noboby never answered), and now it's gone, no traces can be found!? COI workaround?

Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

You have an obvious conflict of interest, please read independent verifiable sources (sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them), the notability guidelines, promotion (articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews) and paid editing. Request for Review of Deletion of Lindholm Misplaced Pages Page

Thanks for your review on my recently created page for Mr. Lindholm. Mr. Lindholm is a friend and I will disclose that COI moving forwards. Before I request recovery for the draft, I have some questions.

Would you be able to provide some clarification on why the page was deleted for U5: Misuse of Misplaced Pages as a web host? Mr. Lindholm is still alive and the purpose of the article is to provide additional context and information behind the development of graphic processing units, in particular the GeForce 256 hardware T&L and GeForce 3 shader units, as these technological advancements were key to modern GPUs. I included numerous citations and kept the tone of the article objective to avoid bias. Would you be able to let me know which sections were not objective and require updates or edits?

Your help is much appreciated as I'd like to ensure that any future article on Mr. Lindholm is compliant with Misplaced Pages policies.

Follow up on ZKH Industrial Supply page

Thanks and well received the latest feedback. I will adjust the content accordingly.
Don't get me wrong. I don't want to create promotional content for the organisation, I just want to write some existing facts about the firm so that audience can have more visibility about the company when they search it. The company is a Chinese firm and has listed on NYSE since 2023. Currently most of third-parties (like news) are from local and not in english language, I wonder if that's acceptable if I use them in citation? And is there a minumum number of reference needed?
Besides reference issue, regarding the latest edits, are any other parts that I need to adjust my wording?
