Where would it fit better then? An appearance on a "best of" list from a major publication such as Loudwire is not a "random ranking" in my opinion. Are the mentions of appearances on various lists to be removed from ] as well? ] (]) 00:26, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

I wanted to ask if you could look over the current state of ] to see if it's on the right track. This is obviously a bit of a tough one to chew and I know it's not your usual topic area. Compare to the structure of ] to see what I'm trying to go for. I think the current one is not really up to snuff at all. The model article I'm using is ], as it's a featured one and similar enough.

Hi. I'd suggest at least pinging me if the conversation has reached a conclusion that is satisfactory. Basically I'm wondering if you think it is 1) on it's way to doing well, 2) what sections you think are missing (still not done outlining everything)

== Regarding Minecraft's composer issue ==

Muffet is a character in undertale, so why do you keep removing my edit of the characters of undertale and deltarune? Yes, I know it is unsourced, that is because I wrote it all myself based on the character in the actual game. ] (]) 00:31, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Why do you not think that Lena Raine, Kumi Tanioka, and Aaron Cherof are not the lead composers for ''Minecraft'' for the page ]? Their composition takes a significant chunk in ''Minecraft'''s OST by the release of Tricky Trials so I have no idea why you'd remove their names when they did have significant work in the ''Minecraft''. -- ] (] • ]) 08:27, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

:Hi, I don't list them on ] because they are not simply not the lead composers. At the games release, C418 was the only artist featured in the game and remained that way until 2020, and he's still considered the main artist (all but one of the sources used in the list only list C418's work, the other lists both C418 and Raine). Raine has only composed music for the game for about four years, and Tanioka and Cherof have composed music for even less. Additionally, the way they're music has been added to the game is less of "here's all of the music for your game" and more of "here's some extra tracks." ] contributed more to the ''Minecraft'' soundtrack (at least on console) than all of the extra artists, yet we don't list him for similar reasons. <span style="border:#000000;border:2px solid #000000;padding:2px">'''λ''' ]]</span> 17:18, 9 July 2024 (UTC) :Hi, you need ] to back up your claims regarding the character and demonstrate why the character is significant in any regard. Hello - I hope you are doing well.

]
I am writing this as a first-time editor. I am confused why, after removing speculative sentences (despite having citations), my purely fact-based points have been removed by you. I am not sure if you are the same person who previously removed the text, but I understand if you did regarding the speculation. That part has been removed.
| rowspan=3 | ]

|-
However, your comment included a note that it is rarely appropriate for Misplaced Pages articles to include player sentiment. I am linking two of the largest competitors to Halo, Battlefield and Call of Duty, below to demonstrate that this is false.

* On 1 January 2025, a one-month backlog drive for good article nomination reviews will begin in hopes of addressing the growing backlog.
Call of Duty: https://en.wikipedia.org/Call_of_Duty:_Modern_Warfare_(2019_video_game).
* Barnstars will be awarded based on the number, length, and age of nominations reviewed.

* Each article review will earn 1 point; for each 90 days an article has been in the backlog, an additional half-point is awarded; one extra point will be awarded for every 2500 total reviewed words.
"Criticism focused on the handling of the campaign's subject matter, including the depiction of the Russian military, as well as balancing issues in the multiplayer."

"The game received mixed reviews from critics and a more negative reception from players for its technical issues, lack of features, and certain changes to the gameplay. The game failed to meet the sales expectations of Electronic Arts."

Both articles mention criticism and not just praise of the games, with Battlefield 2042 specifically mentioning player sentiment.

I would love to understand why these two articles document player sentiment, but Halo is above such criticism. ] (]) 02:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

:Hi, sorry if my initial revert reason was a bit harsh or confused you. Misplaced Pages very rarely takes into account fan reception per ], and we go by whatever ] say. So basically, for video games, reliable sources are where we get our reception, and fan reception usually isn't included on its own unless its very, very well documented (ex. a review bomb). Battlefield 2042 is a special case like that, since it was extremely well covered by reliable sources, and MW2019 doesn't fall under that since its purely the opinions of critics. I'm not saying that fan reception for the Halo Infinite article isn't warranted, but to go into that level of detail in the article lead (greater than that of the critics opinions) generally isn't warranted. Note how Battlefield 2042 only goes "the game received mixed reviews from critics and a more negative reception from players" before listing why they didn't like it.
:Now, a sub-section of the reception section (similarly to Battlefield 2042) could probably be doable and I'd personally allow it to stay (though I'm not sure what others could think). I did manage to find a few sources that discuss how players reacted to Halo Infinite, such as , , , , and . <span style="border:#000000;border:2px solid #000000;padding:2px">'''λ''' ]]</span> 07:33, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
::Thank you for the reply as well as sharing the links, both of Wiki procedure and Halo articles.
::The feedback you shared recommends adding this player sentiment lower on the page; I disagree with this. While I acknowledge Call of Duty does not explicitly list player sentiment in the 'leads' section, Battlefield 2042 does. More specifically, the page includes both critic and player sentiment in the 'leads' section, not below the fold of the page.
::Further, while you argue Battlefield is an exception, I am directly challenging your qualifications for deciding which titles are or are not an exception to include player sentiment. Halo and Battlefield 2042 are arguably the largest culprits of negative player backlash in the past few years, with both of us now presenting articles supporting this data.
::To your later point, I am aligned with rephrasing the structure of the passage as well as reducing length to match player sentiment in the aforementioned competitors. However, I am not aligned with a) removing player sentiment from the 'leads' section when Battlefield includes it and b) your qualifications to conclude that Battlefield 2042 meets an exception 'threshold' when both of us have now provided articles showcasing strong negative player sentiment and related player statistics.
::With regards to reliable sources, I am confused as your shared articles include GameRant, the same reliable source I originally listed when speaking to player sentiment. I have IGN and Polygon articles that also speak to this negative player sentiment.
::What are the available next steps? Currently, I see:
::- Edit passage in Halo Infinite leads page to align with length and structure of Battlefield 2042's negative player sentiment, with reliable sources cited
::- Triage what qualifies as a exception for overwhelmingly negative player sentiment via dispute resolution ] (]) 18:37, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

On the other hand, my involvement with most if not all the notable songs from American Idiot is minimal enough that I could still qualify to review them. :Hi, thanks for the compliments regarding the article itself, helps out a lot due to how I'm feeling about my current work right now. As for the notability concern, I definitely agree it has some flimsy coverage, but I think it technically meets the standards of what some modern song articles are built off of, and might even have a stronger case for a standalone article in comparison to "Dead!" (certification aside). I'm not trying to pull the "]" card here, but in terms of available content about its role in the narrative of ''The Black Parade'' and its composition, I believe "Disenchanted" simply has more to work with. But if it does get sent to AfD or if someone (like you) chooses to merge it into the main '']'' article, then I don't mind as long as the gist of the article content is properly summarized.
:A bit off topic, but I highly dislike the main ''Black Parade'' article at present, because of how it fails to describe the contents of the album (including the songs, like "Disenchanted") properly, as well as the lack of a legacy section (to get an idea of an article that does do that, see '']'' or '']''). If someone later down the line (or even myself) chose to address that issue and let the article go into detail about what is in the album, then I would fully support a merge of "]", "]", and "] into the main article as I feel they could be easily summarized in a paragraph. But until then, I think that all three can stay separate. <span style="border:#000000;border:2px solid #000000;padding:2px">'''λ''' ]]</span> 22:14, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
::I'm with you. I don't think that the article for ''The Black Parade'' would really stand up to a GAR, but I'm not going to be the one to call it out. I do plan on going through the article's songs at some point, though, similar to your foray through ''American Idiot'' --- I already got "]" to GA and have "]" on my radar. ] (]) 23:09, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
:::I've honestly kinda put the ''American Idiot'' project over to the side for now as I reassess how to handle song articles after Wake Me Up When September Ends' failed FAC; looking into the ''Black Parade'' - including making "Disenchanted" - is me working on stuff in the meantime. I wish you luck on IDLY. <span style="border:#000000;border:2px solid #000000;padding:2px">'''λ''' ]]</span> 23:21, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
:::Update: ], and I'm starting to put the sources together. It might not end up being the best rewrite, since this is one of the most important albums of the 2000s and my experience writing on music is fairly limited, but I'm almost certain I can make it at least acceptable as most of the sources are already there. I invite you to help out if you would like to, especially with your work and research on "]". <span style="border:#000000;border:2px solid #000000;padding:2px">'''λ''' ]]</span> 07:58, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of The Foundations of Decay

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article The Foundations of Decay you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Wake Me Up When September Ends

Where would it fit better then? An appearance on a "best of" list from a major publication such as Loudwire is not a "random ranking" in my opinion. Are the mentions of appearances on various lists to be removed from the Basket Case article as well? Lofi Gurl (talk) 00:26, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I'd say that the ranking would be better fit in Reception where similar lists are. As for Holiday (or Basket Case, I guess), I'm gonna get around to cleaning up that article eventually but for now it's probably fine. λ NegativeMP1 00:36, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
cool, thank you for talking. Lofi Gurl (talk) 00:38, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Removal of maintenance tag

Hi. I'd suggest at least pinging me if the conversation has reached a conclusion that is satisfactory. As stated, because 5 editors say "Well I don't think it is" or make arguments similar to WP:OTHERSTUFF, it has not addressed my concerns with the list which is key in addressing the situation. At least ping me before removing a maintenance tag. Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:12, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

Those editors going against what your saying is still a consensus, though. And I figured that you seeing me removing it in your watchlist would've been enough, sorry. λ NegativeMP1 20:20, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Takes a second to ask. The watchlist removal was a misclick. Andrzejbanas (talk) 21:38, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Thank you so much for your in-depth reviews of two of my good article nominations in just one week (!). I hope that we have an opportunity to work together again in the future :)

Muffet

Muffet is a character in undertale, so why do you keep removing my edit of the characters of undertale and deltarune? Yes, I know it is unsourced, that is because I wrote it all myself based on the character in the actual game. GibleGamingYT (talk) 00:31, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi, you need reliable, secondary sources to back up your claims regarding the character and demonstrate why the character is significant in any regard. Most unsourced content falls under original research. λ NegativeMP1 01:28, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Ok, that is helpful. Thank you. I might try to find a credible source to use. GibleGamingYT (talk) 15:51, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Top-M.O.O.N shooter

Hi, wanted you to ping about your recent edit on Hotline Miami today, which might’ve been a mistake. NegativeMP1 (talk · contribs) RFNirmala (talk) 08:28, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for alerting me of that mistake. Honest to god, I have no idea how that edit ended up happening. I think my editor glitched. λ NegativeMP1 08:41, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
