== Gender balance as contribution to socio-economic development” ==

Gender discrimination has been a persistent problem faced by women all over the world, which has led to the need to empower women for uplifting their status as recognized by Millennium Development Goals in 2010.This study is concerned with the variable related to the research. It focuses on presenting the background of the study, the statement of the problem, objectives of the study, scope of the study, research questions and research hypothesis. In a male dominated society, women have always been undervalued and discriminated in all domains of life be it their family and social life or their economic and political life. Moreover, the traditional duties of managing households create hindrances in their social and economic empowerment. Over the years various efforts have been made by many Government and Non-Government organizations to promote women empowerment in general and especially in the field of Socio-economic development. ] (]) 02:08, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello. I'm very new to wikipedia and I'm willing to write an article on my brother. He appeared multiple times on the news (locally and nation wide at some point) in 2021 and 2022 due to some... Events.

I want to make an article so the truth can be spread instead of gossips from lying online medias who portrait him as simply a disgusting individual without citing the reasons for what happened.

The articles are in french, but he's the one talked about there;

Hey, sorry to bother you, but I’m not quite sure what happened, and I’m hoping you might be able to quickly point me in the right direction. I created a sub-page of the Santa Cruz Yachts page fire the Santa Cruz 52 (a model they built), and added a fair amount of info to it. I was expecting it to be a draft, but for the life of me I can’t find it. I did find an edit record showing I created a page, but I haven’t been able to see any content. The page looks empty. Any pointers? I was editing that draft for about a week. --] (]) 20:33, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
Hello Juxlos! Apparently you're my assigned mentor, so I hope it's okay to ask you for help. Earlier on today, I realised that the interlanguage links for sebastes norvegicus (English: https://en.wikipedia.org/Sebastes_norvegicus) were incomplete. Speaking German, I knew there was a German Misplaced Pages page about the same fish (https://de.wikipedia.org/Rotbarsch) but it wasn't appearing in the interlanguage link.

:You might have accidentally forgot to save your edit, or you had saved it during a server outage. Not much I can help with, sadly - maybe try reloading the edit page from your browser history? ] (]) 01:24, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
Accordingly, I decided to add an interlanguage link (my first time! still quite a newbie), and so I was sent to the corresponding Wikidata page (https://www.wikidata.org/Q14718979).

== Question from ] on ] (15:49, 19 December 2024) ==
However, I was then unable to add the German page to the Wikidata's Misplaced Pages interlanguage links. Reason? Because apparently someone had erroneously created a second / separate Wikidata list for the exact same topic (https://www.wikidata.org/Q1753710) and had added the German page to this list. And it seems like you can only add each Misplaced Pages page to one single Wikidata list / interlanguage list. So I couldn't add the German one to this page.

Hello
Having reviewed both the Wikidata pages, I concluded to merge them so that e.g. German Misplaced Pages pages would be able to find the corresponding English page easier (and vice versa). I decided to move everything to "Q14718979" because it was already linked to the English page and also because "Q1753710" seemed to contain a few obvious basic errors (e.g. the interlanguage link list included a link to the Cebuano page for "Sebastes viviparus" – this is a separate fish from sebastes norvegicus and therefore didn't belong in that list at all – I've since removed it from that list, and assigned it to the correct Wikidata list Q1583538).

How do I make an article --] (]) 15:49, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
I have now completed that transfer – there are now 29 interlanguage links for sebastes norvegicus united under one roof at Q14718979 (i.e https://www.wikidata.org/Q14718979)!

== Question from ] on ] (15:52, 19 December 2024) ==
My question to you is: what do I now do with Wikidata page Q1753710? --] (]) 00:55, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello
:My first instinct was to create a redirect link from Q1753710 to Q14718979, but I could only find one help page about it, and it didn't really answer how I do that (https://www.wikidata.org/Help:Redirects).
:I was also wondering if I should/can add a comment/explanation anywhere on Q1753710 to explain what I've just done? I wouldn't want anyone to think I've been vandalising. This is my first time editing a Wikidata page – I was surprised that there's no edit summary prompt or talk page (or maybe I just overlooked it?).
:Thanks in advance for your help! M ] (]) 00:59, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
::I would personally not think too much about it - Wikidata is mostly there for large scale data interface anyway.
::Also, I'm not very familiar personally with Wikidata conventions 😅 ] (]) 01:21, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2023 September newsletter

The fourth round of the competition has finished, with anyone scoring less than 673 points being eliminated. It was a high scoring round with all but one of the contestants who progressed to the final having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were

  • New York (state) Epicgenius, with 2173 points topping the scores, gained mainly from a featured article, 38 good articles and 9 DYKs. He was followed by
  • Sammi Brie, with 1575 points, gained mainly from a featured article, 28 good articles and 50 good article reviews. Close behind was
  • Thebiguglyalien, with 1535 points mainly gained from a featured article, 15 good articles, 26 good article reviews and lots of bonus points.

Between them during round 4, contestants achieved 12 featured articles, 3 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 126 good articles, 46 DYK entries, 14 ITN entries, 67 featured article candidate reviews and 147 good article reviews. Congratulations to our eight finalists and all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.

Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them and within 24 hours of the end of the final. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.

I will be standing down as a judge after the end of the contest. I think the Cup encourages productive editors to improve their contributions to Misplaced Pages and I hope that someone else will step up to take over the running of the Cup. Sturmvogel 66 (talk), and Cwmhiraeth (talk)

Standard notice: Syrian Civil War

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Syrian Civil War and ISIL. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

As a note, per these community-authorized general sanctions, there is a one-revert rule in place for all articles related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, broadly construed. This means that an editor in this area may make no more than one revert per article per 24 hour period, unless an obvious exception applies. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 04:22, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
