Columbus Ga Vipers are a professional basketball team headquartered in Columbus, Georgia, and are active participants in the Pro Basketball Association (PBA). Home games for the Vipers are held at the esteemed Kenneth B. Walker Gymnasium (KBW) located in Columbus, Ga. The Columbus Ga Vipers are a professional basketball team based in Columbus, Georgia, competing in the Pro Basketball Association (PBA). History

The Columbus Georgia Vipers were founded in September 2021 by Angela Culliver, who restructured the Columbus Blackhawks and the Georgia Hornets into a single team. This reorganization followed a split between the co-owners of the Columbus Blackhawks. Previously, the Georgia Hornets competed in the Minor League Basketball Association (MLBA) during the summer of 2018, while the Columbus Blackhawks played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) from 2017 through 2020.

Following the rebranding, the Vipers transitioned to the Pro Basketball Association (PBA), initially competing as the Columbus Blackhawks during the league’s inaugural season. They later adopted the Columbus Georgia Vipers name and began competing year-round.

Dr. Tasha Mahone currently serves as the team's head coach.

2021 Summer Season:

In their first season in the PBA, the team competed as the Columbus Blackhawks. They finished the season ranked #3 nationally and won the Southeast Regional Championship with a 116-97 victory over the Music City Jazz. Their season concluded in the Final Four semi-finals, where they were defeated by the New York Generals. The team ended the season with a record of 12 wins and 3 losses.

2022 Summer Season:

During the 2022 summer season, the Vipers earned their second consecutive Southeast Regional Championship after defeating the Dothan Snipers 104-82. Despite an impressive 12-1 regular season, they lost to the NM Bluetails in the Final Four, finishing with an overall record of 12 wins and 2 losses and maintaining a national ranking of #3.

2022-2023 Winter Season:

The Vipers claimed their third Southeast Regional Championship during the winter season. Their notable victories included wins over teams such as the River Region Generals, Southwest Florida Blazers, and the Tennessee Speed.. They advanced to the PBA National Championship game after defeating the KDC Bombers in the Final Four. However, they were defeated by Fort Worth F.I.R.M., concluding the season with a 16-2 record and a national ranking of #2.

2023 Summer Season:

During the 2023 PBA Summer Season, the Columbus Georgia Vipers aimed to demonstrate their ability to compete at the highest level. Under the leadership of head coach Dr. Tasha Mahone, the team underwent an intensive offseason preparation.

The Vipers concluded the regular season ranked first nationally, setting the stage for their postseason run. They secured a spot in the National Championship game after advancing through the playoffs. In the championship game, the Vipers defeated the PNW Vets with a final score of 116-110. 2023-2024 Winter Season:

The team’s success continued during the 2023-2024 winter season, as they completed a perfect 12-0 record. They won their second consecutive National Championship, bolstered by strong performances from players like Cortez Chaney, Yurmon Barnes, Anthony Daniels, and Alquan Mendenhall .
