== Deletion of "Unlock It" artwork ==
== ] ==

Hi, I've seen that you decided to delete the "]" artwork yesterday. I wasn't present in the discussion since I was on vacations and didn't look at my talk page frequently. I saw that a sockpuppet answered with reasons I share about why the file should've been kept. However, I don't know the user and I think its unfair that because of them, my upload had to be deleted. I understand that the user has done things not permitted here but I should've been taken into account also since I'm the one that uploaded the artwork. I've already began a discussion with @] but nobody else participated. Now that the issue was taken to Files for discussion, I could've been tagged to share my input (I would've look at the alert and share my opinion too). I have nothing against none of you (I understand you're doing your work) but I disagree with the abrupt ending of the discussion and prefer to start the discussion again. I would like to appeal the decision to delete the article ], because the article has been on WP for 12 years, with dozens of editors contributing to it, yet it was removed in the midst of a controversial election in the US with only one week of discussion. Hi Xplicit and happy holidays to you and all your loved ones!

I've left a message on my talk page and on the deletion page to ask for please reinstating / undeleting my draft
https://en.wikipedia.org/Draft:Santikaro

The only reason I did not get to edit it for six months is that I started teaching and it took all my time. I have been intending to make a minor edit before the deadline but forgot by mistake to set the calendar reminder.

I believe this article can be easily accepted - a number of people on here have given me useful advice on what needs to be done for the article to be easily accepted.

I would greatly appreciate undeleting it, please.

Happy holidays and happy new year, may you be well, happy and safe,

A confused new user has recently uploaded obviously non-free logo to Commons. :::::Not just online communities. It's a common phrase men say to each other, at least in the US (or at least in the parts where I've been), stemming from "stepping on my dick" being a more emphatic version of "stepping on my toes", and thus "get off my dick" being a more emphatic version of "stop stepping on my toes" or "get off my back" or "get off my ass". But a man should ''never'' say "get off my dick" to a woman, because it obviously has a very different connotation in that context. ::::::I concur. Deletion of "Unlock It" artwork

Hi, I've seen that you decided to delete the "Unlock It" artwork yesterday. I've already began a discussion with @Launchballer but nobody else participated. Now that the issue was taken to Files for discussion, I could've been tagged to share my input (I would've look at the alert and share my opinion too). I have nothing against none of you (I understand you're doing your work) but I disagree with the abrupt ending of the discussion and prefer to start the discussion again. I'm new with these type of discussions so if you can give me some guidance about what I can do now, I would gladly accept it. GiankM. M (talk) 04:42, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

@GiankM. M: Hi, this file was actually deleted by Pppery. Perhaps he is willing to reconsider his closure given this comment. plicit 11:16, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
I don't believe that to be the song's official cover art (it was using the Pop 2 cover almost immediately after). Nor the one at Out of My Head (Charli XCX song) actually. See the Unlock It file's talk page.--Launchballer 13:44, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Thank you for clarifying it. GiankM. M (talk) 14:12, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
I deleted that because (ignoring a comment by a sock) the nomination argument was uncontested for a month. Deletion discussions have no minimum participation. If you still want the discussion reopened and relisted I would be willing to oblige, but it looks like that is no longer needed. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:33, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
@Pppery Oh, I got it. Thank you for explaining. But can I upload the file again or we need to do the discussion first? GiankM. M (talk) 01:40, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
I have undeleted the file and reopened the discussion. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:33, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Appeal of deletion of "List of controversial elections"

I would like to appeal the decision to delete the article List of controversial elections, because the article has been on WP for 12 years, with dozens of editors contributing to it, yet it was removed in the midst of a controversial election in the US with only one week of discussion. Also, no opportunity was given to allow content from the article to be moved to other articles prior to deletion. Sparkie82 (tc) 19:08, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

@Sparkie82: There was resounding consensus to delete the article. An article's age is not a valid argument to keep it. A week of discussion is the standard and is only extended if consensus is unclear, which was not the case here. There was no support to move the content anywhere else. plicit 03:52, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
I was questioning the timing of the discussion, opening an AFD in the midst of a highly contentious election which could taint any consensus and suggested that the discussion/decision occur some time after the election. In any case, how can I access the information in the article which I need for my own purposes? Sparkie82 (tc) 22:46, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

Template-deletion

Regarding Misplaced Pages:Templates for discussion/Log/2023 July 25#Template:Chembox DrugClass, I don't doubt the nomination and lack of use at that time, but the {{Chembox DrugClass}} template is in support of a feature that was (and still is) implemented and documented. The {{Chembox}} suite is possibly some of the spaghettiest spaghetti we have:( So since then, at least one article invoked {{chembox}} in a way that triggered that template and therefore gave broken output. Is this sufficient basis to un-delete it? DMacks (talk) 13:09, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

@DMacks: Yes, the template can be undeleted if it is put to use. The nominator does a lot of cleanup with unused templates and nominates them for that reason, as to not keep hundreds of templates laying around for no one to maintain them. plicit 13:15, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
Tryptamine uses it. I definitely have no objection to that sort of cleanup. In this particular case, it would have been easily noticed by the chemistry folks if a note had been posted to the template talkpage. It's a redirect, where the target has decent visibility but the template itself is not, so I'm not surprised nobody noticed that the template itself was tagged. DMacks (talk) 13:23, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
@DMacks: I've restored the template, so everything is sorted now. plicit 13:30, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks! DMacks (talk) 13:35, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

Please undelete Draft:Santikaro

Hi Xplicit and happy holidays to you and all your loved ones!

I've left a message on my talk page and on the deletion page to ask for please reinstating / undeleting my draft https://en.wikipedia.org/Draft:Santikaro

Happy holidays and happy new year, may you be well, happy and safe, -Peaceful-D Peaceful-D (talk) 15:27, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Pictures Deleted?

I recently uploaded 2 pictures that you then moved to the delete log, and I’m not sure why. Both of the are from a public website of a public university, UL. Wouldn’t that make them free content? What is needed to allow these to be published? Thanks. Frank042316 (talk) 15:54, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

@Frank042316: I guess you're referring to File:DOL Property.png and File:OLOL Acregae.png. At the upload form, you must have indicated a licensing restriction, like noncommercial use or no derivatives, as these were automatically tagged for speedy deletion in accordance with WP:CSD#F3. What are the source links for these images? plicit 00:56, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
they are from the universities web page, and were used to nnou de the purchase of the 2 pieces of property, so very much in the public domain. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frank042316 (talkcontribs) 10:02, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
@Frank042316: Being available on the university's webpage does not mean the files are in the public domain, unless it explicitly states so. Can you provide links to determine the copyright status of these two files? plicit 11:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Template:Blockquote protection

No rush, but I think {{Blockquote}} was at template editor protection, not full protection, before the most recent merge/delete/undelete fun adventure that you appear to have had. It has been useful for me to be able to edit it over the past few years as people change their minds about tiny parts of MOS. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:43, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

@Jonesey95: Ah, I see it now. The protection log of {{Blockquote}} shows full protection from 2011, but over at its previous title {{Quote}}, it was reduced to template editors three years later. I've adjusted it accordingly. plicit 00:56, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Tricky. Thanks for investigating. I think with under 200K transclusions, we'll be OK with template editor protection. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:58, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

So because both the taken photograph and the box set are non-free, it can’t be hosted here? I would need to find a free image of the non-free box set covers then use it as fair use? Both of the images were taken by Viz Media, who also owns the box art. Given that, there shouldn’t be a layered copyright issue since there is no two separate owners. Freestyle music

Freestyle, or Latin freestyle (initially called Latin hip hop) is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in the New York metropolitan area, Boston, Philadelphia, and Miami, primarily among Hispanic Americans, Irish Americans and Italian Americans in the 1980s. It experienced its greatest popularity from the late 1980s until the early 1990s. A common theme of freestyle lyricism originated as heartbreak in an urban environment typified by New York City. 50.29.112.115 (talk) 03:32, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

A misplaced file (commons/enwiki)

A confused new user has recently uploaded this obviously non-free logo to Commons. They clearly meant to upload it to enwiki, as an updated version of this file that you have recently correctly deleted as unused. Since you, the deleting admin, are conveniently an admin both here and on Commons, would you mind fixing this little mess? It seems to be as simple as deleting the non-free file from Commons, restoring our outdated local version, and then updating that outdated local version with the file that's on Commons right now. Thanks. 78.28.44.127 (talk) 03:50, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have deleted the Commons file and restored the local file with the recent logo. plicit 06:17, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
